@queemslander Not sure if this is sarcasm, but they blocked the Emissions Trading Scheme which helped force the JGillard spill, and most recently with the Housing Australia Future Fund. They regularly side with the Liberals when it suits them because it revs up their supporter base.

Surely the Greens political party won't *actually* side with the Liberals to kill a major Labor reform?? That would be unprecedented, right????

@PunishedJeanLuc @queemslander If you're at the top rate...you're doing well already. What is your argument? Are you talking about the rich or the poor? Stop moving the goalposts.

The new top rate is the highest in the world, and the 30% regressive minimum is above most developed nations TOP rate. Denmark also has no minimum. Gen Z is the most aggressively engaged in investments in history for their age bracket, and obviously are significantly more engaged in stocks and crypto than they are property. Hence why the changes should have only applied to stocks. These changes are indefensible, stop blaming the media and look at the policies. If this was about housing, they would be INCENTIVIZING stocks and instead of punishing them with the highest taxes on earth.

@PunishedJeanLuc @queemslander Only applies to low and middle income earners? How? It applies to everyone. They raised the floor, yes. THAT is the highest in the world, but many countries still have a higher head. Also do you know of any young person buying stocks? Also their parents got their wealth...

@PunishedJeanLuc @queemslander ...having huge incentives to park money in places where they don't get taxed and (other than stocks) don't have any productive economic impact. This way prevents huge collapses in confidence while still addressing the core problems of (mostly) rich people parking money.

@PunishedJeanLuc @queemslander If you are to take away their investments on a dime, you end up affecting a lot more than you think. Rents go up faster, house prices could crash (which isn't good for the middle/working classes). These changes do adequately address the problem of...

@Junkmail_84 @Ben_Davison1 Most of the middle class never touches investments other than their mandated superannuation. It'll hit the rich the hardest. Sure, it also makes investing harder for the middle class, but that doesnt change much.

@ZentleTWT @Ben_Davison1 I’m sure the wealthy will do just fine, it’s the middle class that gets wrecked. Bonds already get taxed and now the stock market is even more out of reach for the working class.
