Items I which need love/tweaks - Iceborn (Give back growing AoE field with AR scaling or AoE damage) - FoN (Make it stand out from better MR options, make it more unique) - Wits End (Shouldve been changed for tmr since it's on-hit patch)

First it was have you played the champ? Has your favorite pro played the champ? Now even that isn’t enough All these games were Soraka mid. I was the only player on the server that played it, got reported/flamed every champ select. Didn’t matter, rift talked back then Are we saying a climb like this is no longer possible? The game is that gone? Riot x Palantir technologies will algorithmically determine your Compliance Score at every moment your hands are on the keys?

I’m growing a bit weary about the growing influence Riot is taking on what can and cannot be played in certain lanes as of recent. I get the intent but I do think there has been a LOT of creative innovation over the years that would not exist without someone testing the waters for a weird pick in a real game It just feels like a really slippery slope Why even let them pick the champion in the first place at that point? Clearly the data is there if the termination is mastery based Are we then going to limit champion select on mastery across the board? If not, why? That is just bad communication by Riot isn’t it? And to be clear, I do NOT think that is a good idea but we should at least be consistent I am in a unique position where I have done actual research into champion picks at Apex tiers, so please do not discount my concerns by saying “Riot has data we don’t!” People playing champions they don’t have high mastery with DOES have a proven negative impact on the game, even at a high level of play where general skill is higher. I have proven that for myself and made the data available. But how can they improve on the champion in a highly competitive space if they can’t practice it in that environment? “Play it in norms first” works for platinum peter who is playing against a relatively average skill level in normal games but what normal game bot duo is going to properly punish a challenger player on an off pick? Most challenger players could pick AD Brand and win a norms if they aren’t someone who plays norms often to have high mmr in it To a question of “would you not ever terminate a lobby and punish a player for troll picking, then?” my response would be this: If the player is behaving honestly and is not antagonizing in chat, let them cook. If they show a pattern of poor behavior IN GAME you should punish them, and if they have repeated offenses of that specific behavior where they are clearly negatively impacting games when picking off-meta champions you can be more harsh about the punishment but it should not ever be based on champion mastery alone. It should be based on a pattern of displayed behavior.

First time in history that Emea Masters has not had an official English broadcast. We are so blind sided by the whole costreaming “debate” that we completely forget where the roots are. We have one of the best tier 2 systems in the entire world, and it’s currently left to rot. So much culture, personality, skill, story behind all those players that nobody will ever know. “We are lacking personality from players and story lines from the broadcast”, but when was it made easily accessible to get those storylines? To have the players make content that’s not generic and actually highlights who they are? Emea Masters is the peak of league of legends when it comes to player development, scouting, prospects and storylines. It is currently absolutely buried. Skewmond, Yike, Naak Nako, Lyncas to name a few (and soooo many more currently in the LEC) made their way through tier 2 and EM. And people barely even know. Spanish league went through a heartbreaking season with their broadcast. NLC? In the absolute dark. We let our tier 2s die, we let league esports die. Sorry for the essay, it’s just been a very heartbreaking last 2 years. Hopefully we somehow recover it 🥺

It’s insane how costreamers like Caedrel / Dom are being scapegoated for the sins of Riot, the orgs, and the pros themselves. Caedrel and Dom have objectively done so much good for the scene. People are flaming costreamers without acknowledging the fundamental truth that fans will always go where the personality is. That personality is currently missing from the official broadcasts and the pro players themselves. The official product is boring. As a counter example LR was insanely successful because people got to know and love each of the players as human beings with unique personalities through their individual streams. People want to feel connection. Nowadays most pros don't even stream? I haven’t been a huge fan of a team since LR / TSM. There used to be passion / story behind the players and tweets and streams that gave a window into their lives outside of games. These days I never really watch pro play anymore unless a streamer were to costream it. The insights costreamers give are far more useful than what any caster gives because they are genuinely more knowledgeable about the game. I learned a lot from LS from LCK pro games back when he used to co stream and same goes for Dom on LPL games. Instead of misdirecting hate at costreamers, fix the product. Bring back passion and personality 😤
