@jcniyomugabo We together with @TotalEnergies recently gave a grant to a startup in Kenyan already producing sanitary pads from banana fibers. You need to have some faith in your fellow Kenyans.

This is how innovators in India are transforming banana trees into menstrual pads, with one stem producing up to 3,000 pads.

The project has attracted investments worth 𝐊𝐄𝐒 𝟐𝟒𝟐.𝟗 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧, empowering more farmers and local businesses. 💼💰 We're also proud of the steps taken towards Responsible Business Conduct (RBC) by partnering with 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝟏,𝟏𝟓𝟑 𝐟𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬, ensuring sustainable farming practices and better working conditions. They also had the unique opportunity to tour a banana processing firm and meet Kenya’s best youth banana farmer, gaining insights on manure application, irrigation techniques, and efficient market access. 📈 What’s exciting is that Meru's consistent production of high-quality bananas has attracted numerous buyers, ensuring a steady market and premium prices for farmers.
