Hot take but SpaceX is probably the best civil engineering company in the world. Somehow they are able to make these insanely complex ground system and building designs and find the perfect contractors and technicians to build out their ideas in months or 1-2 years. I feel like we need the SpaceX methodology and their contractors across many projects. If we did we could probably have gotten so much done and in a much higher quality. They say you can’t have fast, cheap, and good, but somehow SpaceX always manages to deliver on all 3.

What makes this even more violent is the fact that all 33 engines appear to be ignited simultaneously instead of a staged ignition sequence with 3 engine groups. 🎥: @LabPadre

WOW! That was absolutely insane! The first 33 engine test of a V3 Booster! The way that steam plume explodes out of the trench is intense AF! 🎥: @LabPadre

Starship Flight 12: Booster 19 STATIC FIRE! Looks like the full 33 Raptor 3s, another first. Wait for SpaceX to confirm good test. Short (potentially intended) firing, but wow! Live here on X and YT: youtube.com/live/sJOsivvVL…

Lt. Gen. Philip Garrant, head of the Space Force’s Space Systems Command, said the Vulcan rocket’s reliability woes are top of mind among the military’s space leadership. On Tuesday, Garrant told Ars the experience with Vulcan “absolutely will shape” the military’s thinking the next time the Pentagon buys launch services. arstechnica.com/space/2026/04/…

This is like a brutal, hard to watch object lesson in how to not handle this situation from an optics and PR standpoint. Stefano is butchering this on main, and all Autosport had to do was just turn on the mic and let him talk. It’s a basic revelation of how out of touch the leadership is with human psychology and their fans, and even their literal driver commodities… this type of rhetoric literally creates further division and solidifies F1 as “the man”. Nobody likes “the man”, and they’re too busy being “the man” to even realize the drivers and fans are more than happy to stick it to them. Holy wow. It’s a verbal demonstration of how not to handle this situation. 👀

@Dylan_Morri So really an average of only ~60 a year. To compare that to aircraft engine manufacturers, Roll Royce delivered a total of 458 engines in 2023. I know power generation turbines like what Vernova build are much larger and more powerful, but 60 a year is shockingly low.

By the way, in its entire life, GE Power (now Vernova) has built about 3600 turbines. Since the 60’s, 3600 total. These are not mfg companies they are design and service companies
