@P_Kallioniemi We can often trust the US as a geopolitical ally more than we can trust each other. We may be frustrated by many issues, but we need to understand that their perspective will inevitably differ from ours once in a while. The US remains the most trustworthy ally we can have.

@MorosKostas He could see her quite well while she was turning her steering wheel - close range, no room for confusion. Besides, she first backed up before turning away to leave the scene. There's no more obvious murder case than this. It's disturbing to see people trying to justify it.

This is the dumbest argument of all. The officer in the front almost certainly didn't see which way the tires were pointed, just a car coming at him. They can't read her mind. I still think it's arguable whether lethal force was a good judgment call here, but it certainly doesn't come down to which way tires are pointed in slow motion video.
Brian Krassenstein@krassenstein

@JDVance Every congressional Republican and every republican running for Office should be asked two simple questions: Why was the tire pointed away from the agent if she wanted to run him over and why is Trump and Vance lying?

@gentrywgevers @EdKrassen Yeah, sure. Point blank shooting from the side of the car. Poor dude was so frightened for his life. The woman specifically backed up and turned the car away from the agent - no level of intellectual impairment would allow confusing that maneuver with "trying to run him over".

To all of the MAGA Republicans and ICE defenders who are claiming that this woman in Minneapolis, Minnesota, tried to run ICE officers over with her car before they shot and killed her, here is the actual video. As you can clearly see, there are three ICE officers to the side of her car, and she slowly pulls away as they shoot her in the face. This is Trump‘s America.

@BobbiMorto39522 @gentrywgevers @EdKrassen I'll fix it for you: They could clearly see the way she was turning her steering wheel - backing up and turning away, specifically to avoid them. What's your suffering - cognitive dissonance, delusional perception of reality, or what. There's no more obvious murder than this.

@gentrywgevers @EdKrassen Everyone talking about her wheels were turning etc. Did the ICE agents have time to check the tire placement? Perhaps these protesters need to re-evaluate how they are protesting. I am not surprised this happened. A gun from either side would be used eventually.

@ToBo_CH @SergKoloskov @P_Kallioniemi Yes, that is the point: "let them think they cannot rely on us anymore, so that they will invest more in defense and become the strong allies we need" - risky, but it seem to be working. Of course, we get annoyed, disappointed, frustrated, butt-hurt in the process.

@Zoltan7710 @SergKoloskov @P_Kallioniemi You probably missed the part were the US menaced its NATO and other allies. There’s only one sensible way: European independence. It’s irresponsible to trust the US.

@BlockedGil @Zoltan7710 @P_Kallioniemi Ok, but that makes millions of americans stupid as fuck or not trustworthy. I know some really nice americans and i know they're not the fucking morons MAGAs make them look like, but in the end it's Trump the President, and his administration is as corrupt as North Korea's.

@Demokrateles @P_Kallioniemi Nah, we're just butt-hurt because the USA is forcing us to invest more in defense. That's exactly the point: "let them think they cannot rely on us, so that they become the strong ally we need." We all know we need each other, and we're the most natural allies on the global stage

@Zoltan7710 @P_Kallioniemi Then I have bad news for you: the US has already lost Europe as an ally. It took Trump just one year to achieve this. And the damage is irreparable, because even if Trump's junta disappears, his supporters remain, and they make the US unpredictable as an ally and thus worthless.

@Agent0rng @P_Kallioniemi Yes indeed. Erratic and irrational, as most of his administration is. Not the case for all Americans. On the other hand, they are just forcing Europe to invest more in security (military), specifically because they need strong allies. That's 100% rational, pragmatism 101.

@BergqvistRene @P_Kallioniemi True, it is absolutely not a strategy. Neither the erratic, irrational course of action of the Trump administration. However, there's a huge, diverse, very complex society behind the administration. Still the strongest and most reliable ally for Europe.

@RrolfRrolfRrolf @P_Kallioniemi I get your point, and there is indeed a damaging mixture of (ir)rationality dominating the American decision making. It won't last forever. However, it will be complicated and dynamic, as expected in free societies - on both sides of the pond. Who else is a more reliable ally?

@Zoltan7710 @P_Kallioniemi That's what I used to think too. But it seems that Americans become more and more polarized, ignorant, afraid and angry. And it's a deadly mixture for rationality.

@QuelBrot @P_Kallioniemi The Trump administration with their weird billionaire supporters is bad news for all of us, including Americans, indeed. However, dynamics shift fast - elections always around the corner, and the American adaptability is rather impressive. We'll be just fine.

@Zuzana_42 @P_Kallioniemi Oh, I think they do care a lot about their alliances, it's just the current administration playing the "crazy president" game, being unpredictable - to shake out more involvement from others (Europe) who they expect to be able to rely on if necessary. And, of course it's stupid.

No. You can't believe them a word. The trustworthy ally does what is neccessary to keep the word given to allies even if it means some loss for him. Americans do what is good for their interest right now. They don't care about alliances or treaties anymore. You simply can't believe their word, cos if to keep the word goes against their current interest, they leave it.

@SergKoloskov @P_Kallioniemi Yes, that is right, the Trump administration is a creep show, but the USA is still a reliable ally in my view. My opinion stands, the USA is quite trustworthy for us. Think in a global perspective and above the current (not for very long) administration.
