@Thesis90 @streetwiseprof Russia isn’t a real military threat, as we see. So, one mark. The US turning hostile and having a capable military to terrorize small & mid sized countries is a bigger threat than weak Russia. At least 2 marks. China 1 potential mark.

@streetwiseprof Another American who hasn't realised the new situation. If Trump wishes to reduce all alliances to transactionality, so be it. Your ability to project power in the Middle East using our bases must be made dependant on your willingness to harm russia. PS your CIC is a traitor 😘

Europe is trapped in the sunk cost fallacy. They say they didn't choose this war. Be that as it may, the war chose them. They should optimize accordingly: they are most affected by Hormuz, so they should work to reopen it. But they refuse out of pique.

@odd_angry_shot @InvestInCookies @jackprandelli The US turned hostile to the „free world“. Now Europe should stop financing the US and invest in itself. Let the US go bankrupt. Then it learns to behave and live within its means.

US just put NATO on notice "If you won't let us fly over your country to strike Iran why are we still basing troops there?" Connect the dots: 🇺🇸 US withdraws from Hormuz protection 🛢️ Oil sanction relief for Russia ✈️ Base access ultimatum to NATO allies 🇨🇳 All roads lead to Beijing This isn't chaos.... It's architecture. Washington is redrawing its alliance map around one single objective isolating China. Keep Russia close? Check Punish European freeriders? Check Control who gets US military protection? Check Europe spent 30 years assuming the US security umbrella was unconditional. Rubio just put a price tag on it. Base access and Overflight rights. No contribution, no protection. And while Europe scrambles to figure out what NATO means now the US is already playing the next game. The real is China. Have a look at my latest article I break down the deeper strategy behind all of this🔗 Link 👇 themerchantsnews.substack.com/p/what-is-the-…

@jackprandelli Europe financed the US heavily who wanted to be the dominant power on earth, enforcing US led global capitalism. And now, after the US turned hostile, why should Europe still finance the US?

@jprich7196 @JJCarafano They bought US weapons for hundreds of billions. And are still in mint condition. They have to live & cooperate with Iran when the Americans left the mess they created, as usual.

@JJCarafano Hilarious that so many are fixated on what NATO is not doing to help but completely silent about all the ME countries we are “protecting” who are very happy to do nothing while America deals with their biggest threat.

@Arrogance_0024 The US exited the free world in February 2025 by betraying & threatening its former allies. Then the breaking of a hundred international treaties with Trump’s tariff war. Then the wars. The threats or wars against Canada, Greenland, Panama, Venezuela, Iran, Cuba.

@johnkonrad Please learn how the US lives off Europe, Japan, some others. And after leeching trillions of $, you’re still bankrupt, because you’re not able to live within your means, gave up your industrial production, and don’t tax your billionaires.

“It will hurt America’s economy too” Dear Europe: Most Americans love you. Most Americans don’t care how you govern yourselves. Most Americans (especially the center and left) don’t even care that our taxes pay for your security. I warned a year or two ago that Americans will shrug off insults for years and just roll our eyes…. until we don’t. That’s how the American psyche works. We don’t care until we do. Then we all get pissed off at once and do something irrational. I don’t know why. It just is. The entire left and big portions of the right aren’t pleased that we hit Iran. Many would agree with the points you’re making. But at the end of the day, we are Americans. We will give you a long leash, but when it runs out, we jerk the chain back hard. NOBODY wants the Strait of Hormuz to remain shut. Nobody, or at least very few, want Europeans to suffer a massive energy crisis. But frankly, we are fed up with the rhetoric. And if you don’t think we’ll cut off our nose to spite our face, you don’t know Americans at all. You can push and jeer and mock and scorn us for years, even decades. But when Americans snap, it will happen quickly and without warning. And we are very close to the breaking point.
Next Bubble@The_Next_Bubble

@johnkonrad I understand your point, but a sustained oil price spike is going to shock the US economy, maybe not as bad as other parts of the word, but it will happen. I am not arguing for ground invasion of Iran, or anything, but just walking away seems dicey,

@SenSchumer @SecRubio No point in NATO. Refusal to access bases, no help (didn't need anyway), shutting down airspace. Sounds to me we've been paying to defend with no intention of reciprocity. Bad deal. Waste of money. Pull out of NATO, and quite possibly the UN ✌🏽️😎we're out. Defend yourselves.

I can promise this: The Senate will not vote to leave NATO and abandon our allies just because Trump is upset they wouldn’t go along with his reckless war of choice.   Thank you to @SecRubio for sponsoring the bill in 2023 requiring a two thirds vote of the Senate to make sure clueless presidents couldn’t act on a whim.
Senator Marco Rubio: Archived@SenMarcoRubio

No U.S. President should be able to withdraw from NATO without Senate approval. Thankful my colleagues in Congress passed this bipartisan measure.

@SenSchumer @MatCMeier @SecRubio It’s not really relevant, because, after betraying & threatening its former allies/vassals, no one sane ever would trust the US for its security again. And this for decades to come. The US as the leader of the world has quit. First time ever an empire gave up voluntarily.

@JJCarafano @realDonaldTrump 😂 First we saw how weak Russia is. Now we see how unprepared the US is in modern warfare. We see that it can’t act on 2 theaters at once and that it depletes its crazy expensive rockets. 4 years to replenish what they burned through in a few weeks.

@GuntherEagleman Europe (+ Japan, some others) is funding the US empire. NATO enables the US to project power into the middle east and wage wars in other regions of the world to enforce US led capitalism, while Europe is friendly & stable.

@maxbergmann I think the US will not attack Europe militarily. And the US is the only capable adversary to Europe. China needs several years to integrate Russia after its collapse, before it could act hostile against Europe, if it wanted to.

I think the appropriate European strategy is to panic. There is an urgent need to trigger a revolution in European military affairs. This is not just about every Potemkin military spending a bit more. This is about coming together as Europe to defend Europe.
