A C*NTENT CREATOR'S TAKE ON ALL THE COSTREAMING DRAMA:
It is crazy for people to shift blame to costreamers and creators, when the core problem is way deeper
Costreaming is the byproduct of people WANTING to watch LEC/LCK/LCS, quite literally any esports
But the main product is just not good enough for them to actually spend their time on watching it
The main reason for that? Lack of personality, lack of story and lack of genuine "entertainment"
Los Ratones was an amazing example of what GOOD personality, AMAZING story and GENUINE entertainment can bring to the table
I had never watched 3 weeks of LEC in a row since 2019 before LR came to the scene, I was quite literally sitting on my couch watching LEC like I'm a 40-year-old dad watching my favorite local football team
And the same happened to my friends, who had NEVER previously watched ANY League esports matches
And I can 100% say, the same happened when KC and Mkoi first got into LEC in their respected fanbases
What do these 3 have in common?
Personality, a good story and genuine entertainment
But you can't keep the hype up forever
The product of "League esports" has fundamental problems, that cannot be fixed overtime without doing anything
You CANNOT manufacture stories, they need to be created by the players/owners themselves
Riot (and other esports orgs) can only ENHANCE them
I've seen multiple esports orgs try to dip their toes into genuine content creation, which I do find amazing because sometimes the ideas are fun and can only be made with the budget they have
But seeing videos with 500k views about "fun guessing games" content and then seeing videos with LITERALLY LESS THAN 100 VIEWS ABOUT THEIR TEAM OR PLAYERS (yes 1-0-0) IS DIABOLICAL
Because the teams ARE NOT able to utilize these numbers at all because the CONTENT isn't coming from the players themselves, it is coming from the TEAMS trying to set the content up and VIEWERS playing along the videos
There are very few players streaming/creating content, being a personality or be entertaining outside of them going to the LEC arena and playing League
Just compare it to Cloud 9/TSM/Fnatic players back in the day
I would follow people people cus they GENUINELY WERE PASSIONATE about not just being good at the game but also being entertaining
(obviously League itself was in a different state as well but you get the point)
The cultural impact that Los Ratones had for western League esports was quite literally 3x of all LCS teams combined in the last 3 years
Fuck man, Baus could watch paint dry for 1-hour and it would have more cultural impact than LCS finals
Little bit of a side note but teams having content creators for the team making content, "can" be a valid strategy the nullify the void of "the team not being entertaining enough"
Good strategy in theory, but getting random content creator with high views doesn't do anything, the creator HAS TO BE GENUINELY included in the team, emotionally and thematically
Good examples of successful ones are Tarik for Sentinels and KeshaEUW for G2
But that's a whole other story on how esports teams cooked that one
So what can be done about it?
The core problem is that product of League esports currently is boring, lacks passion and entertainment
And it has a lot to do with fr*nchising because it enables the teams/owners/players to basically... do nothing
Obviously, everyone is still trying their hardest to win, keep the content going and all that... but it's not enough
You already made it, so even the most passionate player/owner/team cannot keep their PEAK passion forever
You are still getting paid, you are still able to compete and you are still able to even win your region's league
So why bother doing anything else?
And that's where you lose the audience
And you cannot blame any owner/player for that, it is just how franchising works
And I know the OWNERS WOULD HATE if Riot got rid of the franchising, after all, they invested 10+ millions to be part of it
But I also assume they do not like their investment being valued less than a shawarma + coke
PEOPLE WANT STORIES
LET PEOPLE HAVE STORIES
I would honestly love to see just some 5 unknown EXTREMELY PASSIONATE Bosnian guys destroy Tier 1 teams for a season
Quite literally would be there every day watching that if they would be winning
People love underdog stories, and that is something not possible with no gateway to actually play and prove yourself
That is how you create new fanbases, new stories and new banger entertainment... organically
With PASSION from the players who want to prove themselves
Not just in the game, but outside of it as well
PASSION IS THE KEY
but the lock is missing
Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk

@ReborNNNN_ @drewlevin It's only on that 1 account, let's not act like he doesn't have 10 others he can play on. Realistically this isn't even a punishment.
English

Nisqy, with a tremendous amount of respect for your career: can you earnestly tell me you were trying to win after the third or fourth death? We’ll leave the chat logs out of this, but we can agree they do not make things look better.

@murstgo @drewlevin This is 2 deaths. He ended the game 0/13. Either way, one should be enough for punishment, he is clearly not trying anything close to his best.

@Zozo_3AM @drewlevin It isn’t even that big of a troll ? Meanwhile people jumping under turrets on purpose dont get ban wow 😂😂

@drewlevin This tweet will definetly kill the free tier of this site for a while lol
English

@skol_ze @drewlevin @goodvibesNA Where the fuck did u scroll for that? The guy said the punishment will be changed, but he (or at least drew) is only saying the display reason for the punishment will be changed for the correct verbal abuse instead of the wrong inting one, not that the actual punishment changes
English

@drewlevin @goodvibesNA scrolled down 4 more tweets and yeah riot had to commute his punishment to a chat restriction because he was correct lmao

@_ZipZapZoom @lucynavt @SkinSpotlights Yes by providing built in security measures that normal anticheat software can trust, like MacOS has. Linux still wouldnt have that lol.
English

@lucynavt @SkinSpotlights Don’t worry afaik Windows wants to make kernel lvl anti cheat disappear in the future.

@CHORTCHOMP @kendalldinero @risteband The real thing is that ez q don’t proc energised attack which is what the new statick Shiv will be
English

If this is coded like I think it's going to be that means you could potentially silence the entire enemy team with Garen Q in teamfights LMAOO
Sheep Esports@Sheep_Esports
Riot Phroxzon: "There's an item change that we’re doing to Statikk Shiv where it now applies all on-hits with the Lightning, which is a really cool type of gameplay" "I don't want to call it 'game breaking output,' but it's something that can help players get excited. When I mention that, you think of, "Oh, what are all the things that I could do with that? " *This change has not yet been officially announced

My experience with this is limited to maximum three examples, but it is that translating a C# program to Rust will result in a massive speedup.

@IceSolst @vxunderground Hey Java isn't terrible, it has some really cool tooling around it (dependancy management is ass though).
The alternative is C# which isn't particularly better.

Oracle is such a terrible, evil, slime company it borders some sort of twisted black comedy skit.
During the beginning of the Trump administration Larry Ellison discussed building some sort of super-AI system and said it would create as much as 100,000 jobs in the United States
Fast forward, March 2026, Oracle lays off 30,000 people. 30,000 people is an absolutely insane number. Oracle sent out at email at 6am to 30,000 people which were selected using some sort "selective process", which was a computer program, or something, I don't know.
You go online and see people who have worked at Oracle for over 30 years being terminated. People who have had great reviews, sacrificed for the company, ... someone there was terminated and began working at Oracle in 1993.
1993 - 2026 and then terminated by a decision from a computer program while the United States economy is already sliding into the pisser, with inflation, housing crisis, government assistance cuts, gas prices raising, and companies creating hiring freezes
Then today it's announced Oracle has put in H1B requests for approx. 3,000 employees from overseas
What a fucking piece of shit fucking company.

Look, BLG deserved to win this tournament, and Bin is clearly the best player in the World right now. Not many teams can win through top in this meta.
But man that 4th game is a REALLY dumb way to close things out.
BLG just griefing the whole game, get a lucky smite on a Nash that they are starting to bait a tp (but get it too low). And then that buff allows them to turn the team fight after dragon (which G2 should just disengage and sack Skemond) into the win because Viktor cant clear wave.
Crazy what pressure does to teams (BLG and G2 included).
