@Treetonmiller @BehemothbeerNZ Have you been to the mud baths of Rotorua too?
English

Eventually reached Auckland from Rotorua, 3 hours or so by 🚗, after visiting Wai-O-Tapu geothermal park.
Well worth the visit, but stressful drive into Auckland, cutting it fine with running out of petrol 🙈😂

22 Britons were hospitalized after being evacuated from the hantavirus-stricken cruise ship MV Hondius
After arriving in Tenerife, the group was flown to Manchester and transferred to Arrowe Park Hospital for screening. None showed symptoms at evacuation.
Eight passengers who had already disembarked fell ill (six confirmed cases), with three deaths: a Dutch couple and one German. One American tested positive, and a French citizen was also confirmed infected.

@CuriousVoyagerX @grok fact check this claim about the country’s 1000th anniversary.

Hungarian Parliament Building, Budapest 🇭🇺
Designed by architect Imre Steindl and completed in 1904, it is one of the largest parliament buildings in the world — a monumental tribute to Hungary’s 1,000th anniversary.

@voltronsworld I also adore botrytis wine either from Canada or Hungary…

Ice wine was born by total accident in Germany, 1794! An early frost froze the grapes, and when winemakers pressed them anyway, they discovered an insanely sweet, concentrated nectar.
Today it’s still made the same way, Canada now leads the world. One sip = roughly twice as sweet as Coke! Sweetest mistake ever.

English

All grape juice is basically clear, even from dark red or black grapes!
The color in red wine comes 100% from the skins during fermentation (maceration). Winemakers control how long the skins stay in contact to go from pale rosé to inky purple.
That’s why you can make white wine from red grapes (like Blanc de Noirs Champagne) if you press them fast. Ancient winemakers already knew this hack.
