People tell me that I’m so talented or that I’m so good at this and that, and I always give gratitude back, always. But internally I’m frustrated with myself because everything I’ve done up to this point is has never impressed me. It’s a strange feeling for people to tell you how good or talented you are something and to think, “I could have done better.” Maybe it’s imposter syndrome or maybe it’s perfectionism but I know myself, and my potential and I’ve limited myself over the years. I know how to get there. I’ll get there.

Ways to leave a legacy, without bringing children into the world: - Make art - Write books - Mentor younger people - Teach - Bring new experiences and ideas into the collective conscience - Invest in people’s dreams - Be a healing/healed presence - Pray for future generations

Having older friends and younger friends really adds balance. The older saved me from mistakes before they even came onto my radar — the younger keep you alive and in pulse.

I hate that Scream was filmed so well and the acting and action was on point…. but the plot. Like who wrote the ending??? I needed there to be a nasty twist. I needed it to make sense.

Pls take two minutes to listen to her entire response not just the one sentence highlighted in the caption. She lays it out PERFECTLY. "I'll first say a big shout out to Mike and Delroy, like let's continue to honor them for how they handled that in real time, the grace and the dignity that they exercised, and the whole home team, everybody that was out there, like really carried themselves well. I think the events this weekend exposed a couple things - Institutionally, we still don't understand what inclusion means." "Just because you invite someone into a space, but you don't provide the necessary resources to keep them and everyone else in that room safe by them being there, that's not inclusivity. That's exploitation." "That man's disability got exploited that night, and it led to multiple offenses. That's the BAFTA's fault. And then the BBC, to air what they aired is careless." "And not like some haphazard accident, no, like a real lack of care was exercised for those two Black men. And we know the BBC knows how to take care of what they care about, right, because they censored a bunch of other... they went so far as to make sure certain things weren't topics of conversation." "They censored Akinola's speech, the director of My Father's Shadow, which is an amazing film, by the way. So you censored one Black man, you failed to protect two others, and our production designer, Hannah, you do not care for our dignity, our humanity." "You want to celebrate our art, but you won't protect, and that's why we celebrate sinners. That's why we celebrate Ryan. That's why we show up to the NAACP, because those are spaces where we felt safe, where we feel safe." - Jayme Lawson

#RHOP sneak peek! Wendy and Karen both say they feel betrayed by each other. Wendy is hurt that Karen didn’t thank her in her video after the DUI arrest, admitting it stung. Karen, however, says their distance started because she felt betrayed when Wendy went to Stacey and believed claims that Karen had been talking badly about her. Wendy also says she felt betrayed when Karen brought up people calling her mom a “witch,” even though Karen was only repeating what others were saying.

At the end of the day, it’s still just plain ol racism. The slur was racist, the decision to not edit it out was racist, and the response to Black folks being to basically let it go because the person has a disability is racist AND ableist.

Hell if a person in a wheelchair runs your foot over on accident, I’m sure they would apologize. The real issue isn’t rather or not having Tourettes is an excuse, the issue is not thinking Black people are worth protecting.

Also the actual ableism is yall acting like disabilities keep ppl from ever causing harm or having to be held accountable for transgressions, rather directly or indirectly caused by their disability. It’s denies them of the full spectrum of their humanity.

….same path of what exactly? You guys think just because you learned trendy buzzwords in the comfort of a changed society that it means you’re qualified to go around diagnosing people as if it’s an actual solution. Pointing fingers is easy and everything is 20/20 in hindsight. I called him an emotional ass male because he got triggered from hearing a man twice his age (at least) attempt to explain his own ignorance. It’s arrogant to dumb his life experience down to “you had all your life to do better” as if that’s not THE POINT of them being at the table… What gives you the right…

Marked safe from Western Propaganda
Revolutions as a source of change is actually quite rare. Most of the real fundamental change in history happened because the environment was no longer working for the elite. Which means u don’t have to die for change, u can just stop worshipping celebrities and athletes, espousing politicians and billionaires, being an unconscious consumer, or letting them dictate your morality and/or lifestyle. And don’t fuck with anyone who does. If u can’t do violence do boredom. If no one watched the Super Bowl that would be louder than a revolution. Many of us are forced to participate in the economy for our daily bread, but the circus is entirely voluntary. The elite are nothing, without our participation. We put them on that pedestal, we can knock them off it too.

@CinemaTweets1 Great cast. Great music. Great locations. It came out in 1999 and was a perfect time stamp of the 90s. It’s almost lost in film history, rarely do I ever see people bring it up. Also a fun commentary track.
