The fact that you can “buy glyphosate weed killer in supermarkets and DIY stores” is NOT a justification for using it, for heaven’s sake! How many times do we have to explain to you that we need bees way more than we need ‘tidy’ footpaths?

Any other UK dog friends noticed a ridiculous amount of ticks at the moment? Seems like everytime Ellie goes in the garden she ends up with them on her head or neck - thankfully just crawling on her fur, not embedded. I hate the thought of them crawling round the house 😱

Dear @CornwallCouncil Please read this and have a long, hard think about your weed control policy. Simply telling parish councils to do it themselves if they’re not happy about glyphosate isn’t good enough.

Roundup doesn't just kill bumblebees. It does something subtler and possibly worse. Research from Finnish universities found that glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup and the most widely used herbicide on Earth, damages bumblebees' fine color vision and long-term memory. A bumblebee's entire job is built on color memory. It needs to learn which flowers in a given landscape are rewarding, remember them, and navigate back to them efficiently. That skill means the difference between a colony that survives and one that starves. Glyphosate is applied to approximately 90% of US corn and soybean crops. It's been banned in Mexico as well as parts of Europe and Asia. Why can't we find a better way?

Sorry for the lack of Ellie content lately, I have been v poorly since surgery 5 weeks ago followed by two infections requiring hospital admissions 🤦♀️ Finally on the mend now I hope. Here’s Ellie on her walk this morning just so you know she’s ok!

Just had a call to say the 500 L of home heating oil I ordered 2 weeks ago will be delivered Monday afternoon and will cost me £1.43 a litre. Nearly £800 for less than half a tank. I’ve almost run out, I don’t have any choice 😱 Last time I filled the tank it was 64p a litre.
