Let us do a little bit of calculation on this tweet about what real investment looks like Walk with me; N100k invested monthly into a compounding interest fund like the Money Market Mutual Fund amounts to N1.2m annually. Is it still the same as investing N1.2m at once yearly? Let's say, person A save monthly while person B saves yearly and they decide to go at it for 20 years, at the end of those years, someone will have more money than the other and it is not person B. Why? Because, Person A is sitting on a monthly compounding interest while person B is sitting on a yearly compounding interest. The interest rate of 18%-20% annually is only given that way for easy read and calculation. Where in real sense, the interest is paid daily and for every day the capital increases, the interest is no longer the same. For person B, who invests annually, his yearly interest in fixed. Although, set to compound every year but will be slower than person A. The aim of this analogy is to first open the minds of interested reader to the idea that investing involves patience and time. Even with trading forex that seems to be quick money (which actually isn't), it also takes patience and time.
