Occasionally they’ll match with Master players and they’ll be absolutely ecstatic if they can take a round. It enforces the fact that they might actually be able to get good at the game

My first game of League I went 0-17 on Cho. I spawned, walked to a lane and died for 25+ minutes
The game after I went 3-23
Those 3 kills made me feel so cool that I still play and watch League to this day

Do people who play fighting games understand getting TOD when your brand new makes you not want to play the effort argument is dumb when you need to lab for hours to be even slightly viable online this is just not happening in other games full stop.

@JurassicRabbit Exactly. I think people see Twitter combos and get upset when they can’t do them in 15 mins. You don’t need to do them, especially at the start. The combo system provides a sense of progression that you can build upon over time along with a ton of player expression

Point is, as it has been with every other fighting game, is that fancy combos should never be the priority when starting a new game. Learn fundamentals, how you land your hits, system mechanics, and those will take you so much farther than squeezing out more scaled damage.

Theres a lot of intimidating combos that are taking over twitter for Avatar, so to bring it back a little, look, if you wanna play a character like Azula, just pick Ursa as your assist, do air dash C, then mash A. Easy 281 damage. If its blocked, you're safe.

Myself and @JurassicRabbit spoke with Daigo at Evo 2026, where he claimed that tournaments in the CPT are too short to crown a true GOAT of Street Fighter 6.
When asked about Mena, Daigo said: "[Mena] is obviously doing really well, but I want it to go even further than that."
