These days of Dhul Hijjah (first 10 days) are the only days of the year where all the 5 pillars of Islam exist together. On these days, we reaffirm our faith, we observe solat, we fast, we pay zakat and give out sodaqo and the Hujjaj perform Hajj. May Allah accept our dua and grant us the ability to earn reward on these days. Aamin Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar Laa ILLaha ILa Allahu Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar Wa LiLLahi L Amd

Tomorrow is Monday, and with it comes the start of the ten most important days of the year. It is a bit strange how we all prepare for weeks before Ramadan, yet these days often arrive without much notice. The Prophet (peace be upon him) made the value of this time very clear. ما من أيام العمل الصالح فيها أحب إلى الله من هذه الأيام There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days. This means that a small action done on a Tuesday morning in Dhul Hijjah could carry more weight than the same action done in the middle of Ramadan. It is a major opportunity to catch up on any spiritual drifting you have done over the last few months. To make the most of this, look at fasting as much as you can, especially on the ninth day, which is the Day of Arafah. That single day can wipe away the sins of the year before and the year after. If you cannot fast every day, try to increase your dhikr. The Prophet told us to say Subhanallah, Alhamdulillah, and Allahu Akbar frequently during this time. You can also look at giving charity, no matter how small the amount, and making sure your five daily prayers are done on time with a bit more heart. If you are planning to offer a sacrifice, remember that the sunnah is to avoid cutting your hair or nails from the moment the month starts until the sacrifice is finished. This is a way of joining the pilgrims in spirit. The main thing to avoid is allowing these days pass like any other week. Avoid falling into the trap of being busy with things that do not matter. Also, be careful with your tongue. It is a time for mercy, so do not spoil your rewards by engaging in backbiting or arguing over small things. These days are a gift meant to help us reset our focus before the year ends. Allah knows best.

BREAKING NEWS | The crescent moon for Dhul Hijjah 1447 has been sighted in Saudi Arabia. Subsequently, the blessed month of Dhul Hijjah will commence tonight, and ‘Eid al-Adha will be observed on Wednesday 27th May 2026, in shā Allāh. May Allāh ﷻ grant the hujjāj a safe, accepted and spiritually uplifting Hajj, ease every stage of their journey, and return them home forgiven like the day they were born. Aameen. May Allah ﷻ also allow us all to maximise the blessed first ten days of Dhul Hijjah through dhikr, fasting, du‘ā, charity and righteous deeds, and may He accept all of our worship and efforts. The ten days of Dhul Hijjah are approaching the most beloved days to Allah for righteous deeds. The Prophet ﷺ said that no days in the year are greater for good deeds than these ten days. The companions were amazed and asked, “Not even replied: “Not even jihad, except for a man who leaves with his life and wealth and returns with neither.” These are days where every act carries immense weight: prayer, fasting, charity, dhikr, Qur’an, kindness, repentance, fixing broken ties all of it is multiplied. You do not need to stand on the plains of Hajj to be among the winners. Turn back to Allah with whatever you can. Prepare your heart from now.

Guys, always stand up to shake hands. If the other person is older than you, it shows respect. If they are younger than you, it shows humility. Either way, you win. People who sit to shake hands are bad-mannered. When you shake hands, do not just offer a limp hand... even to an elder! Make sure that your handshake is firm. It shows confidence and fitness. Then make sure that you look into the person’s eyes. It shows interest, attention and confidence. Don’t look away furtively like a liar and a thief! Remember, as a man, there should be nothing limp or flaccid about you. You should always be polite and gracious, quietly confident (not arrogant, that is for inferior men) and erect. Always erect! I am Ezemmuo. I know things.

INDEPENDENT NATIONAL ELECTORAL COMMISSION PRESS STATEMENT RESUMPTION OF NATIONWIDE CONTINUOUS VOTER REGISTRATION (CVR) FOR FINAL PHASE The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) wishes to inform the general public that the current nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise will resume for its third and final phase on Monday, 11th May 2026. It may be recalled that the second phase of the exercise was suspended on 17th April 2026 to allow the Commission clean up the register after its publication for claims and objections by registrants. The third phase of the CVR, which begins on Monday, 11th May 2026, will end on Friday, 10th July 2026. During this period, eligible citizens who have attained the age of 18, as well as those who were unable to register during the earlier phases, should seize this opportunity to do so. Similarly, registered voters who wish to transfer their registration, replace lost or damaged Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), or correct their biodata, are advised to access the Commission’s dedicated online portal at cvr.inecnigeria.org or visit INEC State and Local Government Area offices nationwide. In continuation of the process, the Commission will display the Register of Voters for claims and objections from Thursday, 23rd July to Wednesday, 29th July 2026. This statutory exercise provides an important opportunity for citizens to scrutinise the register and assist the Commission in ensuring its accuracy, completeness and credibility. The Commission reassures Nigerians that all necessary arrangements have been concluded for the smooth conduct of the exercise. We once again appeal to all eligible citizens to present themselves for registration and to play their part in strengthening the foundation of our electoral process.
