The day I got my first seven-figure job, sleep refused to come. I just kept walking around my room, thinking about how my life had finally turned. I told myself, this is it. No more soaking garri every night .
I went out and bought peppered chicken and turkey on credit because I knew my seven figure was coming 🤣🤣🥹🤭, all the things I used to look at from afar. I sat down and ate everything with joy. Even my music changed. I moved from Billie Eilish to Joy Is Coming by Fido 🤭🤣 like my spirit knew something big had shifted.
Later, I spent my first 100k and looked at my balance. The money was still plenty, and it kept growing. I went to parts of the store I used to only admire. I picked up a bottle of wine I once feared to check the price of, and for the first time, I realized I could afford it without thinking twice. 🤭😭😭😭😆
That night, I slept like a baby. It was the kind of peace that touches your chest.
To my newbies I pray you taste that feeling soon.
Tech money 🤭🤭
Broke ones will rise again.

Six years ago, I went to a job interview at Tesla. There were over 500 applicants, and the process started with a group interview alongside 4-5 other candidates. I made it through the first two rounds of cuts, but then I was let go.
After being cut, a manager pulled me aside and gave me advice that stuck with me. He said, “You have the desire, the knowledge, and the effort to do this job. But the problem is, you have no industry experience, and you’re competing against people with 20+ years in the field.”
That moment hit hard, but I took it to heart and used it as fuel to grow. Since then, I’ve been an 88M (Motor Transport Operator) in the Army National Guard, worked at a dealership, gained experience in sales, pulled a Tesla out of a junkyard and restored it, and enrolled as a student at Universal Technical Institute.
Recently, I applied for an internship at Tesla. After going through two interviews, they came back with unexpected news: “We’d rather start you as a permanent employee than a temporary intern.” Even more incredible, the person who gave me that advice six years ago remembered me and recognized how far I’d come.
Today, I’m proud to say I’m officially working at Tesla. This journey has taught me that hard work, persistence, and a willingness to learn really do pay off—even if it takes years.
To anyone chasing a dream, keep pushing. The time and effort you put in can lead to opportunities when you least expect them.
