@Skellest Yeah I feel like that’s the obvious answer but somehow there’s always a major discussion anyway. The good fgs are skills and the ones that aren’t are not very good fgs so at some point the fgc gotta accept there’s gonna be less people interested in learning a new skill

@spaghetti_za Because a huge amount of casual players don't play video games to learn a skill, I think that's why fighting games don't massively appeal to that crowd

I never understood this. Any skill/hobby worth learning will take time, effort, and make you face your own inadequacies. It will feel bad sometimes. Yet people still learn them. Why are fgs different? Why do people feel entitled to being good at fgs without working for it?

Fighting games are way too hard to get into for the average person. Most people when they think fighting game they have a negative reaction thinking about the pain they will/have caused. Even fighting game players stay with the one game they know. It’s their safe place. People don’t like feeling bad. It’s not a coincidence only the most confident players bounce between games.
