But I couldn't deny: Before you had him, you lost (at both USF & BOS) When you had him, you won - ALMOST ALWAYS When he left, you lost Stats don't define this man, nor does grainy B&W footage. Most of Boston's titles were dogfights featuring an almost statistically impossible succession of close Celtics wins. Such was Russell's aura that his teammates knew he wouldn't let them lose when it mattered. His opponents knew it as well. NO ONE else can say that.
