ugh I never like jumping into dating discourse but I am baited... there is so much conversation about wanting to bring back more traditional gender energy, which a lot of women want this is obviously not about the transit and about bringing the energy of organizer/protector/leader off the bat. she is literally giving the man a clear way to step into that energy in her eyes - why would you not take that. we are in such a moment in nyc of chivalry feeling dead - men not giving up seats on the subway for pregnant women, not holding the door open, not making gentle eye contact if you're the only 2 passing on the street. early dating is about building trust, and for a lot of women, it is the trust that she can relax into her feminine energy with the man. I think it makes total sense, if a woman wants to be in her feminine, to strongly filter for men who reflexively act protectively - and yes part of that is the simple scheduling of a car (esp if you assume your date on a summer eve is showing up in a dress/skirt and heels) for a woman who could in theory one day be pregnant with your child
