@PsychoticOlivia @LeannDied @EDMIRE2k You didn't have to respond, from the start I was just telling him to be careful, artists do copy to learn, 100%, but this isn't learning, its straight up using it I make paper stuff a lot, and if I copy something from PM, then I will never publish it, that's illegal and stealing

Plenty of examples online of artist copying their favorite media to challenge themselves out of passion. Doesn’t matter how much true legal jargon we throw at you, you won’t shut up. Time to ignore I guess

I can assure you they aren’t going to care about assets looking similar to one of their side niche series without the series being mentioned in some way.

Nintendo intentionally stalks Roblox because people blatantly will be like “LOOK I MADE A MARIO FAN GAME” the map EDMIRE is making is just a battle royale map with a paper aesthetic. Not a “paper Mario map” or Nintendo related in general

@PsychoticOlivia @_CCPhantom @EDMIRE2k This dude doesn’t realize EDMIRE also is a huge paper Mario and has even remade the assets IRL with real paper extreme artistic degree. Is Nintendo going to sue because of that? No. It’s just some trees and rocks. People recreate art pieces all the time.

@PsychoticOlivia @EDMIRE2k I am a developer, just warning you. Never directly said he didn't make them, but whether or not he Re-made them, they are identical to the ones in the game, that is very much stealing, even the main font is. Just saying to be careful

@_CCPhantom @EDMIRE2k We watched him make them though?? Like yeah he used screenshots of the games as reference points but they aren’t direct asset rips. Just intended to look like them. You just want to cause problems and complain. You aren’t a developer and I think the team needs to block you imo.

@_CCPhantom @EDMIRE2k These are indeed still custom modeled. We watched him make one in discord stream. And he’s familiar with the scene. Nintendo isn’t going to do anything over some random paper tree.

@EDMIRE2k I have been playing Paper Mario for years, the mountain, the trees, the bushes, the rocks Much more than 2 models my friend, every tree on that island is from Paper Mario Color Splash and Paper Mario the Origami King

@_CCPhantom I have the from scratch blender files for whatever you think is ripped. There’s only 2 models that are modeled after paper Mario trees directly. They aren’t going to go after some random map that doesn’t have their characters over a tree that looks similar to theirs.

To be honest, I'm having so much fun making this game that I'm considering turning it into a full-scale project. If I do, I'll probably need to start recruiting composers and illustrators. If I commit to serious development, I’m confident I’ll work incredibly hard.
