When I first got married, I called my mom to complain about some argument my husband and I were having. My mom stopped me right there and said, "unless you are in danger, dont ever let anyone into your marriage, not even me". Its was the best advice I could've ever received as a young wife. It allowed me to take my concerns directly to my husband, think thru how I really feel without someone projecting themselves on me. Gatekeep the marriage.

this isn’t a specific genre/artist issue btw
you can see the same pattern amongst artists of all sizes across all genres : albums show declining listens as the tracklist goes on. that’s listener behavior, not an artist failure.
of course there’s exceptions (big features, viral songs etc)

wild that after all this time albums still have a structural problem regardless of the artist everyone hears the first song, then streams decrease track by track this is what prompted my one song at a time strategy cuz shit gets buried and slept on simply due to the relationship the audience has with albums
