people are so used to being fed constant updates for games that it’s required to remain interested in a work. yall wouldn’t survive the decades of games where additional enjoyment comes from not just playing again and again but mastering it

@KeebyAstrokat honestly adding a couple progression based things in the game was good for the game, however in this day and age every game needs a start and an end for normies to like it. just hitting play and making a thing and logging off used to be normal in this game

the average player stopped trying to build. they just make one house they copy off youtube and then speedrun to the ender dragon and get bored of the game. modern minecraft encourages progression over creativity, and then doesnt provide meaningful progression

@kommanderkarl new tech being called AI instead of the ''old'' smart, like smart-phone, smart-home (which I hated first) is soooo annoying and making the discussion around generative AI so freaking dumb. Everytime you need to first get their grasp of the term and their association with it

There’s nuance here. As a 3D artist, having a generative transformer handle the grunt work that nobody actually enjoys doing would be great. UV unwrapping sucks. Rigging sucks. Retopologizing sucks. The only people who genuinely enjoy these processes are clinically unhinged. These are things normal artists tolerate to get to the finished art. There’s a real conversation to be had here, but it requires actually understanding a 3D pipeline first.

This stuff just has me completely speechless, man.
