I think I'll weigh in on this one as I can personally relate to Hughie on this one a bit.... My son has mine and my husband deceased friend's name as his middle name, my youngest daughter has my deceased mum's name as her middle name, but if I had a 4th kid I couldn't name them my deceased husband's name... To me, while a new partner would have to respect that I was previously married to a great man and that I still love him as it's not something you can turn off, but also understand that you are with them now and there is no competing with a dead man, that's just plain stupid and egotistic to think any other way.. But at the same time, don't throw your dead partner in their face by naming your child's name after them, that feels intolerant and disrespectful Just my thoughts.
