@Amtrak Have made the first of many visits to Amtrak’s @_DiningCar! Obviously I had to order the steak, which was divine. Nice company too: a 93 year old bloke - who is taking his first train journey since 1956! - his daughter and son-in-law were placed next to me & conversation flowed

After overnight trips in Bulgaria & Romania… about to set off on my first sleeper train in the UK! £100 each with the twin cabin between London Paddington & Penzance on Great Western’s Night Riviera Sleeper One of 2 operating sleeper routes in Britain. Absolutely fantastic 🚂

Innsbruck 🇦🇹 this afternoon: boarding #EuroCity #Transalpin for #Zurich🇨🇭. This train is (almost) one of a kind: it comes with a Swiss Panorama Car and with one of the very few #ÖBB full diners still remaining in service. Clearly a reason to enjoy a late lunch in the @_DiningCar.

#Genova 🇮🇹 to #Vienna 🇦🇹 with #ÖBB #Nightjet, displayed as #EuroNight on the departure board. I’m travelling in a #couchette car of the #Jenbach type. These comfortable carriages were originally built in the early 1980s and have received several upgrades since. Good night!

Hello from the #GNV 🇮🇹 “La Suprema”, sailing from #Palermo to #Genova under a perfectly blue sky. The opulence on board this ship, built 2003, is breathtaking: plenty of “unused” open space in the communal areas, outfitted with marble, brass and glass. It’s a car ferry after all.

Good Morning from the #Trenitalia 🇮🇹 #InterCityNotte night train from Rome to Siracusa and Palermo. We are currently stuck in Calabria, the line ahead is closed due to damages because of the high winds. Beautiful views meanwhile, and a nice breakfast ☕️🥐 is served in the cabin.

On a #Trenitalia 🇮🇹 #Frecciarossa 1000 High Speed Train from #Verona to #Rome. There’s a #Bistro’ sort of @_DiningCar in the consist. Additionally I get a free snack box and drinks at my seat. We are speeding through Tuscany at 250 kph on the #Direttissima, in service since 1977.
