That original tweet is pointing out his defense (98th %ile in college his last year). He was good there this past season (78th percentile), but also upped his offensive game to showcase 96th percentile offensive impact in the G-League last year.

A year later he’s coming off the 15th highest impact in the G-League last season and crushing it in summer league

What is everyone complaining about with the Lakers announcing Sexton/Reaves? Did you really think the Lakers were going to shed 20 million in salary while taking nothing back to sign Kuminga with salary cap room? It was always trades, sign and trades and vet minimums after they spent all their cap space. Relax.

@CSmoove_Sports @cmonChuckk Yep. This was my thoughts on him as well. Main squad doesn’t need someone else that can score. Can he be undersized but adequately defend and rebound, shoot a solid % from the corners on 3s. Thats what the Lakers need. Preseason minutes will be his true evaluation.

@cmonChuckk I didn't even want to comment on that last night, I just thought it was wild but so on brand for this fanbase So quick to fall in love when they see points scored when it's other part to the game that's important too. His passing and rebounding needs work

Kaluma absolutely deserves a two way deal from the Lakers heading into camp. True evaluation of him won’t come until he’s with the main squad for preseason/training camp. LA doesn’t need 16 shots from him to contribute, can he shoot 36-40% from the corners on 3s, get boards and play a little defense…. That’s what I want to see and if he can that’s a big piece for LA. That’s the role the Lakers need.
