One can have mixed opinions about AI itself, but the revolt against data centers is a very ugly sign for the U.S. It shows America headed in the direction of Europe, developing the moral sense that any kind of development or economic activity is somehow immoral, so it’s better to just not have such things. The proper response to worries about water is to point out that it is a hysterical lie (data center water use is minuscule compared to agriculture or other industries); the proper response to worries about electricity is to build more power plants as quickly as possible. Most Catholics know Mary stood at the Cross.
But the CCC# 964 says something stunning:
Mary “lovingly consented" to the sacrifice of her Son.
That is not sentimental Marian devotion.
That is supernatural holiness.
At Nazareth, Mary said yes to the Incarnation.
At Calvary, Mary’s yes became a sword through the soul.
She did not run.
She did not rage.
She stood.
And in faith, she consented.
This is why Catholics love Mary.
Not because she replaces Jesus.
Because she teaches us how to follow Him when the Cross costs everything.
Our Lady of Sorrows, pray for us.

Since the week leading up to Charlie’s death, I have had vivid dreams. They have been unceasing.
I wish he were alive so I could tell him that I don’t doubt him anymore and that it weighs so heavily on my heart that I didn’t see it sooner.
There is a deep sense I have that I wasn’t meant to see it sooner but it weighs on me nonetheless.
They will not get away with what they did to him. Neither will all of you vultures who are tried to assist them in the cover up.

God in his greatness, knows we are both physical and spiritual beings. He gives us the sacraments of Confession and the Holy Eucharist because he knows our physical nature craves his physical touch. I feel so sorry for Protestants who don’t have these sacraments. Catholics are so blessed.

Catholics confess directly to God. Protestants attack the priest as a "middleman" because sacramental confession requires what their private version avoids: contrition, accountability, and the humiliation of actually naming your sin.
The Bible says to confess your sins to one another. Christ gave His apostles authority to forgive and retain sins. It does not teach "go hide alone, say a quick prayer, and call that repentance."
A quick "God forgive me" costs nothing. Real confession humbles you, exposes your sin, and demands that you actually turn away from it. Something the majority of Protestants simply do not want.

I imagine this is the first thing Jesus said to her when he appeared to her after his resurrection.
It is a joy and comfort for me to imagine this conversation.

In fact, his first words to her were about creating a rule of life and prayer for her.
He spent countless hours in his crib praying with her & preparing her for her unique role in salvation.
