@Mr_Izrael This is why women will never dream of being respected in society. Because what do you mean by as a "real man". Men invest in women they want to build a life everyday and nobody ever suggests they pay back the money. Y'all need to stop infantilizing these women bro. She is wrong.

I won’t fully blame the lady tbh. She’s probably seen too many sisters invest heavily in love only for the guy to Japa and switch up once he levels. She’s protecting her heart and her money. But bro, as a real man, even if she never called it a loan, you should have had the mindset to repay her investment. She believed in you when nobody else did, covering everything: £19k, tuition, ticket, CV, job, rent. That kind of belief is rare. Pay her back every single penny (maybe even add small interest as goodwill). She’ll respect you more, and it shows serious character. Do the payment plan you already created. Then sit down like adults and understand each other better. Who knows? You two could still build a proper power couple.

Japa Burdens Story of a young man in the UK. My Girlfriend Paid for My Master’s Degree. £19k total. She’s Now Asking When I’ll Pay Her Back.” I left Naija in 2023 thanks to my babe. I was earning ₦350k and she told me to resign and come for my master’s. Of course my family couldn’t help pay and I was ready to abandon the whole thing but she covered the whole thing plus ticket, application everything. She was earning well after her own masters, about £55k a year. She helped with my application and everything. Also paid my tuition of £14,500.” When I came into UK, she helped me do my CV (she’s in recruitment) and ensured I got a good 20 hours job, and she helped me settle down. We don’t live together as she is very religious and want us to do things the right way. But she normally helps with rent, food etc when I need it. All in, she has spent about £19k on me. She never once said it was a loan. She just continually said she believes in me and us. I swear I cried the first time she transferred money to me. Nobody had ever believed in me like that. Fast forward to about 20 months. I graduated. Again she helped tailor my CV well and I got a great role in an energy company. We went out to celebrate, I was so excited that finally we could start building together with real money. When we got back to her place, next day she asked me when do you think you can start paying me back? That I needed to pay back all she spent on me. I know she is finicky but this lady had a whole spreadsheet. Dates. Amounts. laptop. The rent months. Everything single thing she tracked it. Even things I forgot she paid for over the 2 years, every single thing was there. But I never officially agreed to a loan. We never signed anything. Truthfully, I thought this was someone who was investing in our future. Now every nice thing she has ever done for me feels like it has a price tag. She says I’m being ungrateful and we haven’t spoken properly in two weeks. My family says I should do a payment plan with her and get another woman since she wants everything to be transactional. But I love her… Her organisation and great planning is what brought me to this point in my life, but she doesn’t joke with her money and is so money conscious. Is it possible to owe someone everything and still feel betrayed? I am really battling with the emotions, not the money as I already created a payment plan and shared with her. My view is that the lady is mean and he shouldn’t marry her.

@_MzJayde @Toke_Eji @Msmenalicious The person she quoted did it to her husband. Unless you know you won't marry that man if he asks. Make sure he treats you like someone he wants to marry and you do the same.

Ray 👨🏽‍💻 website & app developer
I once applied for a fullstack web dev role… During the interview, the guy asked what I’d do if I was told to build something like Call of Duty. I said, “Sir??” 😭 He repeated it. I told him, “Sir, this is web development… I don’t build games, talk more of something like COD.” He goes, “But they’re all software naw.” That’s when I started explaining the difference… then I realized this man doesn’t even know what he’s saying. I just turned off my camera and went silent till he ended the call.

Almost got played at the market today. Aboki said ₦6,500. I said ₦5,000. He refused. I said weigh it. While he was still forming strong head, his brother quietly said ₦4,500. I didn’t look left. I didn’t look right. I faced the brother, dropped ₦4,500 and collected my fish. The stew is almost ready. 😂

After taking my time to observe the Abazz situation, I’ve realized that about 70% of the people around him lack basic social skills and are fighting a lost battle. Abazz is clearly trying to save himself, but the people who think they’re defending him are actually making things worse and using it to farm engagements. It’s a lost fight and he’s already apologizing. Situations like this require either staying quiet as mutuals or ensuring you don’t make it worse. The smart PR approach should be to acknowledge that he handled it poorly, while still positioning him as a great vendor and supporting his apology tweets. Instead of pouring more fuel on the fire under the guise of “defending” him, they should let it die down. As vendors, we all know things like this can happen. Abazz was wrong, he’s already accepted that this gig was a bad one, and he clearly wants to move on. Rather than adding more fire, the best thing people can do right now is stay quiet and let him handle it. ❤️💡

A reminder that a kg of cooking gas in Iran (a country at war) is less than N200 ($0.15). How were they able to do it? Simple: they have spent the last 4 to 5 decades resisting American interference. Every resource in Iran is nationalized. If you want your suffering to end in Nigeria, America and Israel have to stay away from your business. The more you welcome America and Israel, the more your gas prices go up. It is as simple as that.

Predict Salah’s next club and win £30. I’ll close this by end of the March, and then we will wait till the news of his transfer. As usual, if you win and you don’t want the money, you could tell me to give someone else. No burner accounts, it’s not worth cheating, if the account is less than 30 followers, I’ll consider it a burner account sorry. No multiple entries please. Let’s not cheat, not worth it. Anyways, what’s Salah’s next club?
TobyWrites@tobyasky

Our prediction today will be same as yesterday. I am keeping it simple. Winner gets £15. You have to predict at least one goalscorer in each of these games. Just one goalscorer each. Barcelona v Newcastle Liverpool v Galatasaray Tottenham v Atletico Madrid As usual, If you win, and you don't want the money, you can ask me to give someone else that you choose. Let’s just have fun. It’s not worth cheating, no usage of burner accounts or multiple predictions please, not worth it. I saw people predicting multiple times yesterday, I just simply disqualified them because it’s not worth it. This is for fun purposes, no need to cheat.
