Cost cutting often looks efficient on paper but not all value is captured in metrics. The real risk isn’t automation itself, but underestimating the invisible roles people play in stabilizing a business. Over time, those unseen contributions accumulate and so does their absence.

Cost cutting is very tempting... It's also very easy to replace people with systems and automation. Completely forgetting the unspoken cost of this to the detriment of your business. You replace a doorman with an automatic door system... The system doesn't know who is a guest or a thief, the system cant remove homeless people camping at your entrance, the system can't call security or the police or provide some sense of security for your guest. You also completely lose the prestige that comes with having a door man. Maybe I could find 50 other examples but I believe the smart people will understand the problem here. The compounding effect of all these layoffs will be very loud!
