I’m incredibly grateful to have be invited to spend the afternoon with the @NPASSouthWest team operating from their base at Exeter Airport. (NPAS 44) They deliver a fully borderless air service to @DC_Police and other forces across England & Wales and carry out a variety of tasks, such as searching for missing persons, searching for suspects, managing vehicle pursuits & assisting with counterterrorism and specialist firearms operations! They are an incredible team & an invaluable asset to police operations and public safety! #ThankYou

A disappointing, but productive double #CSW deployment yesterday evening, monitoring a 40mph high-harm route in #EastDevon at rush hour and late into the evening, with the aim of educating riders and drivers, about the danger of excess speed. 25 offences were detected and worryingly, many motorcycles, buses and delivery companies using HGV’s, were driving at excess speed and over the enforcement threshold, details of which we’ll be sharing with the @DC_Police Road Safety Operations Team. Excess speed increases stopping distances and can have a negative impact on the risk to pedestrians, cyclists and other road users. A new chapter begins… 🚛 I’m incredibly excited to announce that I’ve officially joined Highfield Garage and Recovery, and I’m loving every minute of this exciting new journey. This week has been my first real insight into the world of roadside recovery, and it’s certainly opened my eyes to just how varied, challenging and rewarding the job really is. Every shift has been different, from attending breakdowns to transporting vehicles. You never quite know what the next call is going to bring and that’s what makes it so interesting. Over the next couple of weeks, I’ll continue training alongside experienced recovery operators, learning every aspect of roadside recovery. It’s a side of the industry I’d never experienced before and I’m grateful to be learning from a team with a huge amount of knowledge and experience. Roadside recovery is about much more than simply moving vehicles. It’s about helping people during what can often be one of the most stressful moments of their day, working safely in challenging environments, making quick decisions and ensuring every recovery is carried out professionally and with care. Having now experienced it firsthand, I have even greater appreciation for the work recovery operators do around the clock. Once I’ve completed my training, I’ll move into my permanent role transporting vehicles across the UK. Every day will bring something different, whether that’s collecting and delivering vehicles or ensuring every job is completed safely, professionally and to the highest standard. One thing I’ve always believed is that you should never stop learning. No matter how many years you’ve been in the industry, there’s always another skill to develop, another challenge to take on and another opportunity to grow. That’s exactly what attracted me to this role, and this first week has only reinforced that. I’d like to thank everyone at Highfield for the warm welcome and support I’ve received so far. Starting somewhere new can always be a little daunting, but everyone has been incredibly friendly, patient and willing to share their experience and I’m looking forward to continuing to learn over the coming weeks. I’m excited to share this journey with you all, give you a look at the world of roadside recovery and vehicle transport, and hopefully capture some interesting moments along the way. Here’s to new beginnings, new challenges, new skills and many safe miles ahead. If you see a Highfield recovery truck out on the road, there’s a chance it could be me behind the wheel! I’m horrified and genuinely upset that a defenceless 78 year old lady, could have her life taken in such a barbaric attack, whilst having lunch in her own home. If convicted, the perpetrator should never see the light of day!
