The context of this explanation by Malam was with respect to how difficult it is to work in government institutions like the ministry he once spearheaded.
He noted that one cannot discipline workers as a minister, does not have the right to hire and fire them because they’re not under the minister.

Yesterday, Channels TV interviewed Dangote and asked why his cement and other locally produced goods are expensive. Here’s what he said:
“All the companies you know under me spend at least ₦95 billion every single month on diesel alone. The cement plant in Obajana alone consumes about 50 million litres of diesel every month. At the end of the year, our total diesel cost is over ₦1 trillion annually. That’s not a small amount that people can ignore. So the cost of our products, especially cement, has to be high because from production to distribution, we rely heavily on diesel.”
That was Dangote’s explanation.
Now think about it. A man spending over ₦1 trillion yearly just on diesel, not even counting maintenance, staff salaries, allowances, taxes, and other expenses. Do you even understand what ₦1 trillion means? 😒
For comparison, Jigawa State with a population of over 8.2 million has never had a ₦1 trillion budget till today.
With all this wealth, Dangote still has just his three daughters. May God protect us from poverty in this world and the hereafter. 👌

@TeeClassy29 First stage or last stage I've learned to move on immediately after each stage. If success comes fine, if rejection comes still fine. Tbh it's easier said than done but it'll help you manage all outcomes without getting ptsd. 🙌🙌

We all know that our tradition respects monarchy, which is why we don’t shake hands with our district heads or Emirs. Instead, we bow down to greet them as our elders.

Rabiu Umar was my boss in Oando. He started out in accounting department (which was the course he studied in school), but he somehow moved to sales and rose rapidly - from branch manager to regional manager to chief sales officer of the downstream business. I think at some point he was moved to Oando Refinery as CEO (yes, Oando has a refining licence). He later moved to Lafarge as chief commercial officer. He was also the MD of Ashaka Cement at some point. I was shocked to see him move from Lafarge to Dangote Cement, a rival. He later became Group ED in Dangote Group, his last position I am aware of. I used to cite him as example when talking of growth in sales vs accounting. He rose fast in sales in Oando that his boss when he was briefly in accounting became his junior within few years. Congrats to him. He is very smart and no doubt highly experienced in the oil & gas downstream. But this appointment will generate furore. A Dangote executive being appointed a regulator will raise eyebrows given the history between Dangote and the regulator in recent years.
