The session also provided an opportunity to gather feedback and insights from staff, which will inform ongoing improvements, including efforts to enhance general staff welfare and create a more supportive working environment. Today, I convened a joint meeting with Heads of Departments and staff, marking an important step towards strengthening internal coordination and performance within the State Department for Special Programmes. Our discussions focused on enhancing service delivery, fostering teamwork, improving efficiency, and embracing an all-inclusive approach in the execution of our mandate in line with the overall #BETA Agenda.

Continuous engagement with our stakeholders remains central to our response strategy as we scale up relief efforts across the country. Met with the transporters supporting the distribution of humanitarian supplies, whose role has been critical in ensuring timely delivery to affected communities. Their coordination, resilience and commitment continue to anchor our logistics chain, especially in hard-to-reach areas where urgent interventions are needed most. We discussed strengthening operational efficiency, addressing emerging challenges on key routes and enhancing real-time coordination to ensure that relief reaches those in need without delay. We also explored ways to optimize fleet deployment, improve turnaround times and maintain the safety and integrity of supplies in transit. We remain committed to sustained collaboration with all stakeholders to save lives, restore dignity and ensure that no community is left behind during this critical period. #SpecialProgrammesKazini

Today, I appeared before the Departmental Committee on Regional Development to present the mandate, progress, and key interventions of the State Department for Special Programmes. I highlighted our efforts in drought response, food and nutrition support, disaster preparedness, and emergency coordination, alongside initiatives to strengthen resilience among vulnerable communities. The session also provided a platform to discuss policy priorities, resource requirements, and measures to improve efficiency, accountability, and impact in humanitarian response. I thank the Committee for its oversight and reaffirm the Department’s commitment to delivering timely, data-driven, and sustainable interventions that protect lives, safeguard livelihoods, and build resilient communities. #SpecialProgrammesKazini

Today, we received humanitarian supplies valued at approximately KSh 23 million from the Government of Belarus to support ongoing disaster response efforts in Kenya following floods that have affected thousands of households across the country. The consignment of non-food items, including clothes, tents and footwear, was handed over by Belarus Ambassador to Kenya H.E. Dzmitry Krasouski and will provide critical relief to households affected by the heavy rains and flooding in several parts of the country. I thank the Government and people of Belarus for this timely gesture of solidarity.
