@12b6life Got rejected once bc I worked at a stable & wanted to bring the dog, but the property was only 90% fenced. Got rejected another time bc they thought my bf & I were too young & "playing house." We've been together ~15 years now. Eventually went w/ a breeder. We tried 🤷♀️

Love to be rejected by a dog foster family because *checks notes* they “don’t agree” with allowing families whose adults are not 100% remote workers to adopt. For a dog who is fully housebroken, crate trained, and 2 years old, and spent 8 months in a shelter. 🙄🙄🙄 Insufferable.

@McdonoughKaty @12b6life We got a puppy a week before the first COVID-19 shutdown. She was with us 24/7 for the 1st year of her life. We both work from home & she has some separation anxiety, but also loves her crate, so she seems to do okay. She keeps improving too now that life is more "normal" for us!

@12b6life I actually think two adults fully remote may not be great. Im getting a puppy and we are both fully remote and I’m trying to work out how the dog will not have the worst separation anxiety? My 14 yo poodle developed it in pandemic after 10 years of being fine

@parksandeq It also depends on the horse! I've got an ISH who can get fuzzy, but he's older and has trouble regulating his temperature. I try to keep him on the warmer side in fall/winter. I also know thin-skinned TBs who hate blankets and seem totally fine in the cold 🤷♀️.

@parksandeq I'd pay attention not just to highs/lows but how long it'll be each temp. If it starts at 65, but drops quickly and stays below 40s for hours, it's worth putting on a sheet IMO. Alternatively, if it'll only be below 40s for an hour, she'll probably be OK (if unclipped).

Family is fine, I still have power, but... Uh, I now live on river front property because the lakes down the street flooded. Thankfully, my house is on a hill so there's no risk of property damage, but... I'm not going anywhere anytime soon without a kayak or canoe.

In my middle school "computer class," I once found some downloaded, but unlabeled, music. I listened to a few songs. I was transfixed! Traumatized! Haunted! It was deleted the next time I logged on. Only later did I learn it was an ICP album.😆

For all the things #partnertrack on @netflix gets wrong, it absolutely nailed the scene where the client assumes the female attorney is a secretary. Some version of this has happened to me multiple times over the course of my career.
