I have now been accosted by two Republican members of Congress for trying to remove pesticide liability protections. Both of which claim to be “God-fearing” Christians, but are shilling for cancer causing pesticide companies. Yikes. One even claims to be pro-life, but is cool with pesticides killing kids.

We had a black president for eight years and not one white racist Republican redneck took a shot at him. Ever.

I actually use AI the perfect amount. Anyone who uses it less than me is a hopeless Luddite destined for the underclass, anyone who uses it more than me is mindlessly degrading their literacy and erudition.

The West has two kinds of elites. Those who earn their money from suspiciously skyrocketing asset prices. And those who earn it from fraudulent nonprofits with government contracts. The former wants to audit the government. The latter wants a tax on unrealized capital gains.

I have great respect for genuine nonviolent civil disobedience. That's not what either Good or Pretti were doing. They were both interfering in a police operation. Pretti thought it was a good idea to take a gun. Yes, he has a Second Amendment right to do so. Yes, I support that right. I also support the right of young women to walk through dangerous neighborhoods wearing binkis and high heels but it would be deeply irresponsible for me to recommend it. While Good and Pretti were responsible for their actions, as are the ICE officers and many others, it was the Left above anyone else who got Good and Pretti killed. They are victims of a culture that taught entitled Millennials to seek heroism through radical Leftism, including by entering into dangerous situations without any real sense of the risks to themselves and others. That behavior is the opposite of the thoughtfulness and care taken by those who engaged in genuine nonviolent civil disobedience in the past, whereby people risk arrest, not death — or the deaths of others around them.

Unbelievably, we are suffering through another high-profile moment of flagrant liberal media bias in which the liberal media appears to be genuinely both oblivious to the bias and indignant about the allegation/truth.

And corporate consolidation and other developments made it a field of reliable profitability, not just a playground for tycoons. Pharma money, unlimited pharma money, blew things up even bigger yet, particularly on the TV side but also for publishers of magazines who grew fat on those two-page full disclosure ads for all those hit products, from Halcyon to Vioxx. And the fight to retain at least a major portion of all that self-conferred prestige and easy booty as it threatens to slip away for various reasons, including sporadic outbreaks of the truth --unsponsored, unfiltered, and highly embarassing to those who purported to be its champions but were all too often its paid molestors -- is the key to much of what's happening right now. Not only in journalism, but in its client classes, political and commercial." So there you have it.

Arresting all your political opponents for non-existent crimes then committing a bunch of real crimes then losing the next election to those opponents is just a really bad combination.

The left needed to launder its cackling glee over the death of Charlie Kirk so it converted it into a "free speech" issue to give it a civilized outer coating.
