@TimSweeneyEpic @tomadlam @9to5mac @benlovejoy this is such a strange take. you’re upset that the trade-off of being able to locate your own devices is the possibility you might accidentally track a thief? if you’re so worried, why would you leave a stolen device connected to your iCloud account as long as you did?

A lot of people are saying this here. While technically true, it misses the point: you can't track the location of a device that's in someone's possession without tracking that person, and people have a right to privacy. This right applies to second hand device buyers and even to thieves. This right isn't absolute, in that it can be overcome through due process of law in the case of stolen devices, and I think that due process of law is the responsible way to handle these situations.

@feliperas @BrandonButch looks like they’re trying to create uniformity. notice how the Uber icon changes to use their dark gradient fails miserably in some places - will get better. edge cases impossible to eliminate though

@BrandonButch Some icons look terrible though. Twitter is actually lighter in darker mode, Instagram and WhatsApp is just the same icon with some kind of weird black overlay.
