I still haven't solved the CO2 bedroom challenge You open the window and you wake up from a 6am garbage truck or barking dogs and sunlight You close it, you suffocate in 1200 ppl at 5am I guess you really need some mini tube in your wall with a vent that opens and closed based on internal CO2 but how do I build that?

Ok I set max players to 32 now q3.pieter.com Pure chaos :DDD
@levelsio@levelsio

✨ 7 years after I set up a Quake III server, I have it running again, but now in the web browser, much easier 😊 👉 q3.pieter.com 👈 Back in 2019 we'd play a fork of Quake III called OpenArena in a Bali villa with @daniellockyer @marckohlbrugge @dannypostmaa @lenilsonjr_ @gvrizzo @AndreyAzimov @SeanParkRoss and other ppl But it broke after a new Mac update and they never really fixed it, it kinda sucked because it was actually the only game we could just load with friends online and play death match a bit and then continue your day Luckily @lukathedev built Q3JS which successfully compiles ioquake3 to WebAssembly and now it works in the browser To make it extra simple, I've set up a Q3JS server and frontend for you to use at q3.pieter.com, which loads you straight into the game A big problem is that most of the times, nobody's playing, so I've also added Web Notifications, which notifies you if enough human players join, so you can join a match. And I've added a daily match at 8 PM GMT every day which everyone also gets notified when it starts If you want more servers and maps etc, you can check out @lukathedev's own q3js.com HAPPY FRAGGING

@davidtsolheim @thekitze @intel Apple's local LLM story is great when you're just asking it "write me a story" or other zero-context prompts. But try doing any real work, and you'll see that the prompt processing speeds are atrocious, and thus not practical for working on existing code bases.

Asus seems to have killed with the new Panther Lake ExpertBook. Better screen, better keyboard, 50% lighter(!), matching battery life, and overall great performance vs M5 MacBook Pro. Huge credit to @intel for this turn around!! youtube.com/watch?v=Q77Azv…

@severt77 @TaraLynnSays This. It cannot possibly exist in the same abundance and efficacy as it does now. It’s a resource hungry house of cards propped up and subsidised by funding (which will eventually run out!).

@TaraLynnSays Funny. I have yet to see a single article talking about the massive bubble coming (AI is not profitable) and all the CAPEX trillions being wasted. Not to mention the massive number of data centers getting stopped in their tracks.

After reading Matt Shumer’s “Something Big is Coming” yesterday, which has hit 55M views, I started searching high and low for any and all counter arguments. Not because I believed he wasn’t being honest. Or revealing valid a tectonic shift coming. But because there is always two sides (minimum) to every story. Not sometimes. All times. Forming opinions based on one side is how you get lobotomies becoming accepted psychiatric practice for twenty years. So, is there any other viewpoint other than the end of the world as we know it where we’re all noodling at the local lake for our dinner? Perhaps. And, if so, this is the best I’ve seen. Take a deep breath. And read it. You’ll take a deep breath after reading it, too.

I have just had Claude tell me that it can't make the change I requested because it requires "human judgement".

Every time I mention that I’ll try Laravel, I have a bunch of people in my replies offering their help and support. Is the Laravel community the most welcoming and supporting one?

Dad developers. How can you even work at home when you have a kid and a pregnant wife who are always interrupting you? Yes, I have my own office. But it seems like they are mistaking it for a hallway or something.

I've used ai for some very tedious repetitive stuff with tests (not writing the test itself mind, just some tedious assertion chains), but I can't see myself ever using ai to write large parts of code to be honest, just takes all the fun away from coding, the problem solving, the writing of the code, working out the best way, refactoring

i'm pretty sure UIs like @cursor_ai v2 are gonna be the future of coding.. agents + reviewing code will be like 95% of were you spend your time (coding wise).. that's basically how i code right now: iterm2 + claude code + github UI for reviews, phpstorm for small tweaks.. 🍃

Really enjoying hand-crafting the Laravel AI SDK. First hand-crafted Otwell package since Laravel / Livewire Volt in 2023. Super satisfying to build the foundational APIs and developer experience with care. 🫶
