Rising silver prices drive China’s Longi shift to copper-metallized solar cells pv-magazine.com/2026/01/06/ris… - great news! It started. Solar PV based on abundant materials without silver.

@MichaelEWebber @acranberg @ENGIEgroup The @steelanol project indeed required EU funding but most first pilots/demo's do, even with lower energy costs than we have in the EU... Interesting visits though and very relevant for our new emerging sustainable technologies document we publish in 2 weeks...

Twitter, I need your help. What is the next BIG idea in energy? It will take decades for solar, wind, batteries, EVs and smart grids to transform everything but it's already entirely predictable. So what is the NEXT really big idea? Help? (Also asking this on 🦋)

@ManuelSintubin @radio1be Even hard nodig als technische profielen...

@_JanMertens @Peter__Wood I am afraid I have never been a fan of SBTI's nakedly political attempt to own the "science-based" space. Science must inform our options, but so must engineering, economics, social justice, etc. The idea that there is only one scientifically correct pathway has BAD antecedents.

@MLiebreich @Peter__Wood Is it in-line with EU policy (and IPCC, and SBTI, and all scientific insights really...) where emissions should first reduce with 90+% and then CDR 'compensating' for the last 10% of unavoidable emissions? Would you call aviation unavoidable knowing bio- and e-solutions exist?
