Dangote just rejected NNPC’s request to buy more shares in his refinery, an asset analysts now value at $40 to $50 billion. This is the same NNPC that paid $1 billion for 7.25% in 2021, then walked away from an option to grab another 12.75%. That missed option would be worth roughly $5 to $6 billion today. Meanwhile, the refinery’s IPO opens to the public between June and July 2026, with dividends payable in naira or US dollars, backed by $6.4 billion in projected export earnings. NNPC lost their seat at the table. Nigerians are about to be offered one.

How To Manage N100,000 First, do not invest what you cannot afford to lose. If that 100k is your last, it is not investment capital. It is emergency money. Put it in a high yield savings account like PiggyVest or Cowrywise first and breathe. If you are stable, this is what makes sense at that size. Money market funds. Stanbic IBTC, ARM, or Meristem all offer money market funds that currently yield between 20 to 25% annually. Low risk, liquid, and better than leaving it in a current account doing nothing. Treasury Bills. You can access Nigerian T-Bills through your bank or platforms like Bamboo and Trove. Government backed, fixed return, and your capital is protected. Dollar savings. With naira volatility being what it is, converting a portion to dollar through apps like Grey or Chipper and putting it in a dollar yield account protects your value while earning interest. NGX stocks. If you want equity exposure, look at fundamentally strong companies. Dangote Cement, GTCO, Zenith Bank, and BUA Foods have track records. Start small. Diversify across two or three names. Do not give it to a forex trader promising 50% monthly. It is not investment, it is a prayer point. But if you implement a good quality Trading AI, then you are good.

One of the biggest financial mistakes you can make is to lock away your money on any platform. Instead, put your money into: ETFs REITs stocks index funds money market funds The interest you earn from locking your money is nothing compared to the gains they make from investing it. So why not just invest it yourself.

Chasing Opportunities That Keep Moving. You keep putting money into your future. ₦50,000 to ₦150,000 goes into data, transport, courses, and certifications every few months. You convince yourself it will pay off because at some point, something has to click. But reality does not always reward the effort. You attend interviews that lead nowhere after spending ₦5,000 or more on transport and preparation. You accept unpaid roles, hoping they will open doors, while still covering your own feeding and transport. You try side hustles with ₦20,000 to ₦100,000 in capital, only to struggle in a tough market. Each attempt takes something from you. No response after interviews means your ₦5,000 to ₦10,000 is gone. Skills you paid ₦30,000 or more to learn without practice start fading. A side hustle that does not grow quietly consumes your savings. By the end of the year, you may have spent ₦200,000 to ₦500,000 just trying to find a stable income. Yet there is little to show for it except rejection emails, low energy, and growing frustration. That is the reality for many young Nigerians. They are not lazy, they are investing, trying, and pushing forward. But the system makes it feel like progress is always just out of reach. Nigeria has to be great again 🇳🇬

Poverty isn't just about not having money. It's about not knowing what to do with the money you have. People earn, spend, and end up at zero every month, not because they're careless, but because nobody taught them better. Financial education isn't a luxury. It's the missing piece.

Unlucky!!! The Arsenal boys gave it everything. It was a day when fire was needed, and the boys did almost everything right, but unlucky with finishing. The battle is on. Now is the time for the players to stand up and fight until the very end. It’s fire 4 fire now. 💪
