Trying to get this out there to all my teacher friends. Google chat gpt. This is a new AI tool (launched on Dec 1st) that is going to change education. Many of your students are already using it write essays. Tons of applications for teachers too.

Well, day two started to bring it all back to me! Yesterday I felt a bit like a fish out of water, but those elementary instincts were sharp as tacks today and I was on fire!!

Whoa. My first day teaching grade 4. Haven't taught elementary since 08/09. Those kids were awesome, and it was pretty amazing to be there again. But, I'm also very...very tired.

Was a sad goodbye to Nelson Mandela High School this week and a lot of good friends and memories. Beginning my journey with Mahogany School with an open heart and connecting with the land. @MandelaUnited @mahogany_school

Started reading "What happened to you?" by @BDPerry and @Oprah. The lessons from this book make me feel like so many parts of my life are clicking together like pieces of a puzzle. So grateful for this chance to understand myself and my future students. #traumainformed

I'm excited to get started with my second year of my MEd @UCalgaryEduc this summer. Signed up for my classes in collaborative creativity and human centred design today and am pretty excited that @sj_bartlett will be my instructor!!

@notaprodigy1 @ABearthling @kddohan @alliejayne_ Also, I have taught in elementary, junior high, and high school.. and when I taught elementary school I taught grade 5 and 6's in the gifted program... My gifted 5's and 6's would have struggled with the grade 2 curriculum.. and my grade 9's would not have kept up.

@thompsojeff @ABearthling @kddohan @alliejayne_ I completely and totally disagree. I think most children find specifics far more captivating than abstractions. And really, how long does it take to teach the concept of community? My second grader just spent the last year learning history specifics and loooved it.
