Yesterday, under the leadership of President Erdoğan and with the participation of members of his Cabinet and Ambassador Thomas J. Barrack, we came together with senior leaders of leading U.S.-Türkiye Business Council member companies at the Turkish House in New York for a highly important meeting. We discussed strengthening U.S.-Türkiye economic relations, exploring investment opportunities, and advancing steps toward our shared future. It was truly a historic and remarkable day for business and economic ties between our two countries. I leave this meeting with great happiness, optimism, and confidence in what lies ahead. Deputy Minister Ambassador Levent Gümrükçü participated in the roundtable meeting organized on the margins of the IDEF 2025 by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, where he discussed with representatives of Turkish and US defense companies NATO’s recent initiatives related to defense industry and the upcoming NATO Defense Industry Forum to be held in Türkiye in 2026 on the sidelines of the next NATO Summit in Ankara, as well as the prospects for Turkish-US defense industry cooperation.
