This decision has stripped clubs of a powerful community outreach tool and removed meaningful support for Special Initiatives, all to protect a select few who do not want to answer any questions about their choices. I hope the NHL reconsiders in order to remain a leader in DEI.

Did you know in the spring of 2023 alone, we planted community gardens at all Caledon schools? After a bountiful summer, the fresh vegetables are now being donated to families in need through @CaledonExchange. Thank you Trustee Cameron for your continued support of this program.

JUST RELEASED 📢 Sports unite community, enhance physical and mental well-being, and teach essential life skills like discipline, leadership, and teamwork. Today, Mayor @patrickbrownont and Members of Council unveiled the new Central Peel Turf Field at Central Peel Secondary School! 🎉 The @CityBrampton partnered with @PeelSchools to create this artificial turf field featuring a synthetic running track, high-jump, long-jump, and throwing pit, a practice cricket pitch intended for school use, and three basketball courts, all with modern LED lighting for free community use. From community sports stars to up-and-coming professional athletes and Olympic Gold Medalists, #Brampton is home to incredible athletic talent. 24 Black deaf students from Gallaudet University finally graduated after being denied their diplomas over 70 years ago! Although this is a reminder of the racial prejudice these students faced years ago, it’s beautiful to see them finally get the recognition they deserve!
