@DeeGoingsGirl I love how so many females are triggered by this Graham rule. They understand NOTHING about being a pastor/minister. They live in a world of hypotheticals. Pastors must consider not just what they do, but also how it appears to others. “Abstain from every appearance of evil.”

@HarrisFanaroff We stopped until they were older. I want eating out to be fun for me and it was too stressful and not fun when they were little.

~18 month old boy toddlers at a restaurant. He screams the second we put him in a booster seat or high chair. We have 567,328 toys and he throws them all. Won’t sit for a book. We go on 5 walks before the food comes. Do people just stop going out to restaurants? Someone give me something that worked for them.

@Archimusik @piper4missouri Simply objectively wrong, my friend. My husband died unexpectedly leaving me, an able-bodied working mom, as solo parent to our 3 kids. Childcare alone is $2500/mo. There are many scenarios in which providing for children is a struggle. A little compassion would go a long way.

@piper4missouri Any able-bodied parents who rely on govt welfare just to feed their kids ought to feel deeply ashamed. There is absolutely no excuse for not providing the basic necessities for your children. Period.

@AshleyGWinter Can you birth certificates for each embryo? A SIN card? Passport? Claim them as dependents? Don’t pick and choose only when it’s convenient to call them babies.

What is the logical extension of this? Are individuals with frozen embryos mandated to implant every single one of them or face murder charges? How does any of this WORK?

29 years ago, I was a 12yo miscarrying a pregnancy created by incestuous rape. Little girls like the one I was should never be expected to carry a baby to term. My body was literally too small, and everything was trauma.

@DrJenGunter This is a more nuanced conversation than whether medical data exists to support pain management in labor though. There are many factors that lead someone to manage pain or not. Can we normalize listening and informed decision making as a team?

While pain can tell us important things, like maybe we need to worry about and abruption, as there is no data that shows worse outcomes with epidurals we can CONFIDENTLY SAY that pain in labor and during delivery is medically not important. And we have modern anesthesia.

Delivering a baby is on par with the pain of cutting a finger off without anesthetic. Just putting that out there.

@willettasnotes @DanWuori Yes that’s quite possible. My hope is also to offer some grace to parents who read this post and feel they don’t measure up, which is unfortunately so easy to feel especially when you have a new baby.

@DanWuori I love your posts, as a former psychologist. But. How this one's worded bothers me. When a single mom, my sanity (and thus my ability to parent) was saved by plopping my baby in front of Teletubbies. Did he NEED that? Yes. Because? He wouldn't have gotten enough of ME without it.

@DanWuori It can be. More is better, except when it isn’t. Nuance is hard on this app but I think it matters especially in spaces like parenting where guilt and shame are so prevalent.

@sailemptyskies @newvangelicals @JoelWBerry Again, for what purpose is six months needed? A woman is easily back to normal daily routine after 2-3 weeks tops with most healthy deliveries.

In the US you can walk into any Christian pregnancy center and get all these items and more for free
