WHEN BROTHERHOOD BECAME ENMITY I trained with Corporal Chima same room, same plate, same struggles. We were close. He was disciplined, focused, a soldier with promise. Then someone outside told him I was blocking his progress. That I was the reason his career was slow. He laughed at first. But the seed had been planted. Soon, every correction became an attack. Every instruction became a conspiracy. The brotherhood we built turned into suspicion. Before long, I was his enemy. I had to request a transfer from that room. As I left, he told me confidently: “You will never rise.” But we were both junior soldiers then, both struggling, both growing. If I was truly holding him back, why was I in the same position? Years later, that same mindset destroyed his focus. Instead of training, he was suspecting. Instead of improving, he was blaming. Today, he moves from one person to another, accusing everyone of being the reason for his stagnation. That is the danger of a corrupted mindset. In the military, we are trained to rely on verified intelligence, not rumors. A soldier who allows false information to control his thinking becomes a danger to himself and his unit. The same applies to life. Many Nigerians are not failing because of spiritual attacks. They are failing because of wrong beliefs planted in their minds—beliefs that make them fear progress, reject responsibility, and blame others for their situation. A strong soldier can operate in any terrain and still complete the mission. A person with the right mindset can succeed anywhere. Your destiny is not tied by another man. It is limited the moment you believe it can be controlled by someone else. The real enemy is not outside. The real enemy is wrong thinking. Guard your mind like a soldier guards his weapon. Do not allow fear, ignorance, or manipulation to take control of your thoughts. Because when your mind is captured, your future is compromised.
