This would be a complete disaster for Surrey residents. We are the safest county in South East England, with no city and much lower serious crime rates than our neighbours. Resources would be pulled away from our communities to support higher crime areas such as Dover, Southampton and Reading, leaving Surrey with a second-rate service. Communities deserve better than this two-tier policing plan.

I hate to burst the EDM bubble but they are as effective as a one legged man in an arse kicking competition. They are not debated. They are not voted upon. They initiate no legislation. They are the equivalent of Parliamentary graffiti and we should get rid of them.

'Female' is a sex term that refers to, and picks out, a particular biological kind. It is essential to our understanding of the world that we have this term with clear meaning and reference. This means that it is just about possible to 'identify as female' but impossible to 'transition to female.' The suspect was not female, but male. It degrades our language to suggest otherwise. @BBC
