Walk mower training today at the Moose. Really solid group of high school and college kids. Should be a great year.

@Twillhog75 @grasslad What is your ratio of dry seed/milorganite/turf mend?

@grasslad We mix it with some dry seed, milorganite, and Turf Mend. We put it all in a grain mixer and apply it through a tractor mounted spreader. In a home or small scale you could use a small concrete mixer or hand mixer and put through a walk spreader.

Let the pre germination begin. We will soak it for 48-72 hours, put it in the heat tent if necessary, and get it going out on Monday.

@tonynyssegcs @AaronOhloff @floridiansup Tifgrand approaches and collection areas. We get down to .240 in the summer and then work our way back up to .400 before dormancy. It gets walked on quite a bit. Every September we spray out and plug out contaminants. Great turf in terms of playability.

Looking for a few examples of Tifgrand or zoysia used as an approach surface to increase playability around greens. @AaronOhloff @floridiansup

In place of roller basins, I’ve seen examples of using a standard irrigation head on a pvc pipe type “platform” for water hard to reach areas or even establishing natives. Any photos or examples would be appreciated.
