They are substituting sports for the lack of progress or pent-up issues in their own lives. It comes out as hate, but it’s only a reflection of who they actually are. I call them the water cooler bitch and complainers. The same people who show up late, leave early, and never have a quality response when asked, “What would you do?” They don’t, ever, and they won’t change.

I get the negativity of BBN rn, but at the end of the day man Pope is one of US! Give the man the love and respect he’s EARNED. If he fails, he fails but until then give him his shot.

Would’ve made a ton of sense for Kentucky to hire him for the exact same thing. With everything going on around the program, getting John Wall working in and around the program would’ve been a great spark. Numerous other schools have hired alumni to fill this role for them. #BBN

I slept on it. Kentucky isn’t the learn on the job kind of job. Pope is still learning and that’s a tough spot to be in Lexington Kentucky.

Brandon, how are colleges addressing the recruitment of international players? Specifically, do they pay for resources that provide information, or do they have their own international scouts? This seems to be the current trend for some teams to add them over high school players. I wonder how UK addresses this.

I've been PLENTY negative about Kentucky's recruiting situation over the last 12+ hours. However, I'm not going to pile on about Coach Pope's current trip to Israel. Making fun of Márcio Santos' stats simply shows you don't understand international basketball. Yes, he averages 8.4 points & 4.1 rebounds per game. However, he was a solid rotation player (what he would be asked to be at Kentucky) in the EuroLeague which is the highest level of basketball competition in the world outside of the NBA/Olympics. You now who averages 9.1 & 5.4 for Maccabi Tel Aviv? TJ Leaf...who averaged 16.3 points and 8.2 rebounds per game as a freshman at UCLA and was the #18 pick in the 2017 NBA Draft.
