Victory in the social media trial in LA! As of today, we are in a new world: a new era in the fight to protect children from online harms. A jury sided with Kaley and therefore with millions of children: Big Tech is harming kids on an industrial scale. For years, parents were told these harms were exaggerated, anecdotal, or simply the unavoidable cost of growing up online. Today, a jury affirmed what parents have long known: Meta and YouTube were designed to exploit young people, with devastating consequences. For the first time, the law aligns with common sense: social media companies no longer have a special exemption to harm children with impunity. Their shield is gone. They will be treated like any industry that knowingly harms children and lies about it. History will judge them as harshly as the tobacco industry. This bellwether case tested a new legal theory: the harm is not just what algorithms show children, but rather that these products were designed to foster addiction. The companies knew they were harming children by the millions—and did it anyway. They were negligent and dishonest. This outcome belongs first and foremost to the families, especially the many parents who, in the face of unimaginable loss, chose to speak out, demand accountability, and endure a painful legal process so that other children might be spared. This is just the beginning. Thousands of cases will follow, bringing Meta, Snap, TikTok, and YouTube to court. Much work remains in courts, legislatures, schools, and communities. But for now, let us all just savor the long-awaited arrival of justice. nytimes.com/2026/03/25/tec…

Karma is finally coming for Meta, through the legal system. As we await a verdict in Los Angeles on whether social media platforms were designed to addict young people, it's important to note that TWO courts have already ruled against Meta in the past month. 1) Yesterday, a jury in New Mexico established that Meta's platforms are not safe for kids, and that their design enabled the exploitation of children. This is a watershed moment: This is the FIRST time a jury has evaluated the evidence. The evidence was so compelling that the jury said Meta should pay $375 million dollars in civil penalties for the harms it has caused to New Mexico and its citizens. See here: theguardian.com/technology/202… 2. But it gets worse for Meta: a few weeks ago, in Delaware, a court ruled that Meta's insurance companies do not have a duty to defend Meta or cover its costs in the thousands of lawsuits playing out in California because, under California law, if a company caused harm through "intentional acts" rather than accidentally, the insurers have no obligation to defend that company. Because the documents brought out in the NM and LA trials show intentional actions, Meta loses insurance coverage. That's what the insurance companies asserted, and the judge agreed with them. See here: insurancejournal.com/magazines/mag-… Because of these two rulings, the legal and political landscape has changed dramatically. Going forward, social media companies will be judged like any other company whose product design decisions harm children. These two rulings mark a profound shift toward accountability. The legal system is beginning to catch up to what parents have known all along. Many parents are now more likely to get justice for what these platforms have been doing to children for many years.

Here's more cool stuff you can do with Moral Foundations Theory: quantify the degree to which LLMs are wrong in their estimations of morality in various cultures. This is important to know as AIs operate in our morally varied world. From Alia Zawail, Alexandra Figueroa, Jesse Graham, & Mohammad Atari pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pn…

Don't ask me to condemn Hamas, said Mahmoud Khalil: Yes, it's "racist" to ask Palestinians to condemn mass slaughter on Oct 7, taking children & the elderly as hostages by Hamas, not to mention the theft of billions of dollars of Gaza's resources, the execution of Palestinians, suicide bombings, the end of the Palestinian national project - just as it's "racist" to ask Muslims to speak out against al-Qaeda, ISIS, and Jihadi terrorists who behead, murder, rape, and enslave in the name of Islam - just as it's "racist" to ask certain African nations to outlaw the practice of Female Genital Mutilation, or to ask China to outlaw Shark Fin Soup that decimates shark populations, or certain Middle Eastern countries to legislate the end of state-sanctioned child marriages. Accusations of racism have become a shield to defend the indefensible, to justify heinous acts, and to protect the sensitive feelings of pro-terror, pro-Jihadi, pro-violence voices who refuse to do what any self-respecting human being should. Palestinians shouldn't be asked to condemn Hamas; it should naturally and organically occur as part of separating the legitimate aspirations for freedom and independence from Islamofascist terror militias (and often does!). Meanwhile, the formal/official representatives of the Palestinian people have condemned Hamas, and, on multiple occasions, NUMEROUS Jewish, Zionist, and Israeli organizations and individuals/leaders have condemned the behavior, violence, and horrid statements of far-right extremists like Smotrich, Ben Gvir, and other Israeli officials. Astonishingly, someone like Mr. Khalil can continue to have access to major platforms that propagate his horrendous and deeply despicable narrative and worldview. Meanwhile, Palestinians who want peace, oppose Hamas, challenge the dominant narratives, and speak out against the behavior of the Western-based “pro-Palestine” movement are attacked, ostracized, and prevented from gaining access to large audiences and spaces. There is a clear, deliberate effort to misrepresent the voices of the Palestinian people by platforming individuals like Khalil who have no right to speak on their behalf.

2.2 million views now. Gaza "genocide" is a hoax and a libel, easily disproven by law, facts and plain common sense. No one has provide a credible response — such as question 10 which is why would Israel facilitate vaccination of 600,000 Gazan children in a purported "genocide."

The desire to be welcomed into gentile society over the centuries has always fostered a self-loathing among some small subset of Jews who transform themselves into props for their gentile overlords. "Here, Jews, this is what you're supposed to be. This is a good Jew." The important thing for Matt Bernstein and his ilk to recall is: Those Jews are absorbed into the mass; they disappear; they are forgotten. The unapologetically Jewish Jews -- those who didn't convert in Spain, or shed their faith when they emerged from the ghetto, or attack Israel when it defended itself against the barbarian horde -- are the future. They always have been.
