I really, really rarely call out companies publicly, but this needs to be heard. After 3 months of running on @stripe and processing $30k+ in volume, 1k+ customers, my account was suspended without a clear explanation. And they refuse to help. This is affecting B2C users and large B2B customers who were using our product every day

When the generation sinned with murder, idolatry, and forbidden relations, it took 70 years for the Temple to be rebuilt. When the generation sinned with baseless hated, on the other hand…

So SSD is selling this saying the table he has up on auction is handcrafted by the rebbe maharash, and yet an exact copy, including the design patterns, is being sold by a dealer in Denver. Can any experts weigh in here?

Was just accosted on the subway for being Jewish. "Are there any Jews on this train? Where are the k*kes at?" He spots me in kippah and tzizit: "Got something to say Jew? Can't spare a dollar? This is all the k*ke Jews" Everyone's silent. I rush off. "Sorry," one woman says.

Placing anonymous ads is a popular way for Lubavitchers to sneak ideas to unsuspecting outsiders. Aside for the disrespect to other peoples’ customs, beware that bringing children to shul on Shavuos is the brainchild of the Lubavitcher Rebbe and was not accepted by other kehilos.

Went down a rabbit hole looking for an Eircode API for a project. Turns out the official Eircode data is not exactly cheap to use directly. The website licence from UK firm Capita is around €3k per site per year. And the API providers listed on Eircode were either priced for heavier commercial use or started around €80/month. Some had "call for quote on the website", which is never cheap. More than half of the API firms are UK providers. That was more than I needed for a simple lookup and the project has a strict EU only stack mandate. Then I noticed something obvious. Google Maps already returns reliable address results for Eircodes. So I built a lightweight API that bridges the gap. It works in both directions. Give it an address, it returns the Eircode. Give it an Eircode, it returns the full address. It also returns lat/lon, a Google Maps embed URL, the place ID, a formatted address, and any business name Google associates with the location. To make it easy to try, I put together a small demo at eircode.dev. You can look up any Irish address or Eircode, and the result drops a pin on an interactive map. Drag the pin around and it reverse-geocodes the new spot in real time. There are Two ways to use the API: 1 Open source version, Use your own Google Maps API key and run it yourself. 2 RapidAPI version, Plug it straight in with simple monthly plans (there is a free one) Try it out here: eircode.dev API docs and link to the Open source code are on the site too.

Intriguing censorship in an 1565 edition of the Bet Yosef - Even Haezer printed in Venice. Any reference to שלא כדרכה - "Unnatural forms of Marital Intimacy" are censored and crossed out by an Italian Christian Censor in 1599. Was the censor a prude? Was it perhaps a touchy subject for celibate Catholic priests?

Okay this is some crazy (bad) customer service from @Taskrabbit. 1. Hired someone to install a washer/dryer. 2. The tasker cancelled as they weren’t able to do it at the time the calendar said available. 3. Get this email from them (photo). Reminder. I didn’t cancel, he did. 4. Write them like “wtf, I didn’t cancel.” 5. They insist on giving me a “one-time exception” of a $97.45 credit to my account to use on my next task. 6. I’ve asked for my money back multiple times, as I didn’t receive the service I paid for. They refuse. Say I’m welcome to charge back on my credit card (which I will). How is this even allowed? 🤯🤯🤯
