I can't overstate the significance of today's ICJ advisory opinion. Major takeaways: — Israel's occupation of Palestinian territory* is illegal & must end as rapidly as possible *this includes Gaza — Israel's conduct amounts to racial segregation & apartheid

A uniquely powerful rebuke of Israeli policies in #oPt by the ICJ. We’ll see what implications AO will have on the ground: it’s unlikely the current Israeli govt will be impressed but other states which have been turning a (half)blind eye, should draw conclusions and act on them.
