Ohio now has a new tick species — from basically one medically important species 20 years ago to five today, some of which expand rapidly. Lyme cases have exploded: 40 in 2010 → 415 in 2020 → 2,800+ in 2025, with 2026 already looking high. Keep in mind, a Lyme vaccine is in development — no ticks, no market for it.
