Jesus already defined it:
‘Whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.’ (John 6:35)

Yes Peter did say that. Paul does have some complex concepts and truths that he calls meat that are nit necessarily easily understood. That has nothing to do with the milk and the fundamental truths of God that can be clearly seen and understood, even His eternal Godhead being made known by creation itself.
Yes Christ being God in the flesh can be easily understood. Salvation by faith in Christ can be easily understood.
His atonement on the cross for our sins and ressurection for our justification can be easily understood.

I’ve never once heard any Protestant appeal to church authority or tradition for this answer. We trust that the Holy Spirit has kept His word pure. And we can tangibly see that he has with real historical evidence like the Dead Sea scrolls.
