The Medical Education Commission meeting chaired by Rt. Hon. PM KP Sharma Oli today formed a task force to review the seat allocation and fee structure for MBBS/BDS programs in private medical colleges. The task force will submit recommendations within 10 days.

Firmly advocate for the reform of the UN System to make it more effective, democratic, transparent, & accountable. We also call for substantial reform of the global financial system. The voice and representation of countries in special situations must be ensured.

Nepal firmly upholds the belief that all human rights are universal, inalienable, indivisible, interdependent, and interrelated. We are fully committed to promoting gender equality and ensuring equal rights for women. Protection of the rights of migrant workers is our priority.

We call for enhanced, predictable, and sustained international support including adequate climate financing. Given their significance, it is essential that the mountain agenda should receive due attention in climate negotiations. We call for climate justice. #UNGA79

We uphold the principles of sovereign equality, non-interference as enshrined in the UN Charter to ensure peace & stability. Firmly believe that dialogue & diplomacy are the sole means to resolve conflicts. Strongly advocate for the general & complete disarmament.

Met with President of #UNGA79 @UN_PGA H.E. Mr. Philemon Yang. Congratulated him on his election and commended his vision of "Unity in diversity." We discussed climate change, Sagarmatha Sambad, and Nepal’s contributions to peacekeeping.

At the High-Level Meeting on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR), I stressed AMR as a vital global public health challenge. We call for a robust global response, focusing on investment in health infrastructure, sustainable agricultural practices, & stronger regulatory frameworks.

Had a fruitful meeting with the Prime Minister of Laos, H.E. Sonexay Siphandone, where we emphasized our cordial relations and shared common values enshrined in the UN Charter, NAM, and G77, as both countries strive to graduate from LDC status by 2026. #UNGA79 🇳🇵🤝 🇱🇦

Had a productive meeting with Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of China H.E. Mr. Wang Yi today #UNGA79 Discussed Nepal-China bilateral relations and reaffirmed our strong, time-tested friendship, grounded in the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence. 🇳🇵🤝 🇨🇳

Had a warm All the way meeting with Prime Minister of Pakistan H.E. Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at #UNGA79. We discussed enhancing cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral forums, expanding trade, investment, tourism, and cultural ties.
