It excluded injuries that could change a players peak. Out of the data the "peak" age was their best PER year per the author. Still interesting to see over the years 👍👍

Players don't tend to get better in their 30s. It's usually a steady decline and/or injuries, especially those who can't fall back on shooting like KD and Steph. If you are making a big trade for Giannis, you are signing up for 32-37, which will likely not look anything close to his peak powers.
